I don't mean to scare you guys but let me just tell you the truth, you're wasting your time and data going through the assessment and interview. Companies like these don't employ people like you they only employ those with well known referees. They already know who they want. What you're doing now is just for formality. You'd better start looking else where and stop wasting your time. It may sound harsh but I know Nigerians love hearing lies. Bye!

The people that will or have gotten the job won't go through all that stress.

Hi.

So, I took the assessment yesterday and scaled through. Here are a few tips I followed, I hope it helps.

- Ensure asking your manager questions or to help you for a task is always close to your last options. They want to see you try on your own, to take initiative first before going to ask for help.

- When there's a chance given to you by your manager to do something you're not really confident enough you can do, make sure you don't reject it. Rejecting it should be your last option.

- Show that you enjoy NETWORKING and COLLABORATION and HELPING others in the team. If a team member asks you for help, asking them to go to another person or turning them down should come last or close to last.

- When you have to speak with clients, you have to show you can be prepared for any question that might arise in the meeting. Even if you realised impromptu, you still have to figure a way to make sure you don't lose the client.

Like for instance there's a situational question of going to a meeting with a senior colleague who calls to let you know they won't be coming anymore and you have to go alone. Even though it's the Senior colleague who knows the elements of the meeting well. You have to still show them that you can salvage the situation and not lose the client. Basically, just show that you are at least always in the loop regardless if you're the one on top of a situation or not.

- Also show that your work is priority. But when there is a clash between your work and a chance to network in one situational question for instance, make sure your answers at the top are your work followed by a possibility to still network.

I am sorry, but I don't agree with you. IGP is one such program where they solely choose candidates based on merit. If this was a mid career recruitment then your point would have probably made sense.

Yes I do, although she was the only one out of all the candidates who applied that got picked. She went along with other IGP's to China for their induction.

No. They just said they'll review it and get back to me. Judging from those that had theirs last year, their response after video interview is usually within a month.
Please will it be possible to do the video interview with my tablet pc

I applied for the IGP - Commercial Banking. My regional HR office is based in India. The one in Africa will probably start sending out soon. Check your email regularly (Including the Junk Folder)

False information.
All those that did went through the stress.

After reading this, I am highly disappointed with people that jump too quickly to conclusion. Telling people, that the only way to secure a job in Nigeria is through connection.
I hope this person's perception changes over time.
Please keep applying for jobs like this if you have none. God will surely bless your effort.
Stay safe

Hi. I want to apply to the standard chartered graduate job for 2021. I just want to confirm some information. Is it really important to add a cover letter? Actually, more of a personal statement? Did you do that? Would I be at a disadvantage if I do not add? Thanks

You are the best, this finally worked for me. I was ousted at the strength assessment stage last year. Thanks a bunch
