Facts That Shows Nigerians No Longer Have Interest In Voting. by Leo588(op):
Nigeria's Voting Progress/Behavior from 1999 to 2015

This article will expose us to the facts, that shows Voting in Nigeria is not Democratically or rightfully done by the masses as their constitutional right. The citizens gives little or no attention to it. If not well studied and oriented for solutions, our future for DEMOCRACY is underlined on "red"....

Its not magical to imagine that due to the heavy factors that have taken the lives of some persons, injustice, and other electoral malpractices in Nigeria's election, citizens are beginning to lose interest in Voting.

The statistics of the Nigeria Population, Voters Turn out, Total Votes, does not in any way matches to the interest of the citizens in choosing their leaders, rather the Total Voters Registered has no effect in voting as result shows after elections. The trend of the population is drastically increasing while that of the Voting power diminish.

In the graph and figures, the total votes from 1999-2015 is significantly lesser/obvious that its has not done justice to the total voters registered from 1999-2015. You will agree that, any person that has registered as a voter has a right to vote, but its obvious that 48-55% of them don't cast their votes.

Total Accredited Voters
Why do we have good number of people accredited to vote after undergoing this process and later in the same day, the numbers sink to the soak away!!!huh What is the problem? I feel the numbers are cooked up or the stress, misconduct, threats after accreditation is a factor here.

Voters Turn Out
In this past years, you will observe that the total turn out of Nigeria's citizens casting votes is lateral or diminishing, which has the same effects on the Total choice of the Nigerian citizens.

Voters Registration
Some Nigerians only have interest in getting a PVC for identification, now as the NIN enrollment surfaced, some Nigerians have no deep attention to the PVC anymore. That is why in the graph the total number of voters does not increase rapidly in relation to our population. Villagers, market women and men, civil servants and the rich, who constitute a great number of the Voting strength, have little or no interest in Voting, except otherwise (money).

Summary
The major reasons why the Voting progress of Nigeria is collapsing is because of the Tension at the Voting Point/Pooling Unit, Threats by thugs, Signs of misconduct or malpractices, fight, securities inability to keep peace and order, and others.

The question is, Who has choosing our Leaders in Nigeria, Does anyone cares? Civil societies, governmental agencies and NGOs has so much to do.

WAY FORWARD---
