may God bless you for this kind reply, ungrateful people everywhere, some are even praying for 3+ he/she is saying 4+ CGPA is small.

Grade don't determine one's destiny and future.
It depends if you rely on grades.

Dont worry. Wetin de for front still de do press up. It's when you find yourself mixing cement on site for 1k5 daily pay with your 9.0 CGPA tissue paper gathering dust in your box, that's when you will remember that there was really nothing to be depressed about at this point in time.

learn a digital skill, become influential and make friends with high value people around you. Worrying about cgpa and looking for who will give you motivation (external/extrinsic motivation) is a sign of an indomie mind. Depression is not real.

Well, you stated that those individuals dropped out without factoring their country and institutions attended. Sure, a 4.2 CGPA is a good one but for some individuals who aimed to achieve higher CGPAs, it doesn't look good. I know persons like that. Unfortunately, OP will not graduate with a first class unlike them.

Or did someone one promise him appointment if he bagged firstclass.

4.0+ is good to go for any scholarship.. Will also start my 500lvl in January too on 4.44 CGPA now but with A in IT, it should make 4.48.. And the ball will be in my court not to score less than 4.7Gp each semester next year.. #Team Ptdf Scholarship
I'm currently a 2019 PTDF Oversea Scholar, Everything in this life is by the grace of God, I got the scholarship with a 3.91 CGPA. PTDF have other things to consider like Awards, Publication, O'Level results etc not just your degree results.

First, relax. What you can not change you learn to live with it, and to explore and exploit it to your advantage.
If the idea is to get foreign scholarships for Masters, then you don't really need a first class. All you need is information.

When you are calm, you can get in touch with me and I will put you through.
Cheers.

Just about yesterday after speaking with my Class advicer, I was left in a depressed state.

I am currently on my 400level IT and I am to return back to school this coming new year by January. He told me about my result. He said my CGPA is the highest so far. Which makes me his best student. I asked him for the exact CGPA which he replied with with a *4.06*. My God I wondered why he was glad to break such a sad news to me. I thought I had chances of making it a 4.1+ the previous semester. I told him thanks. But I know I wasn't Happy sad

I did the maths...and I found out that the highest CGPA I can make is 4.2+ after my final year(2 semesters left) I feel terrible right now. How can I shift it to 4.3+ Cgpa? I have heard of students borrowing courses but I don't really know if this could be one of their reasons for doing such.

NB: I am not in anyway trying to make it look like having such a CGPA is bad or I am ungrateful. It's just that I have plans of applying for scholarships to study abroad but won't such a Gp hinder me?

Pls I need someone to placate me with motivational words. I feel like a looser. After all these years of studies! What if I loose the passion for school or studies after returning next year? I feel real bad sad sad

What if I might even loose the chance of being the best graduating student of my set like my class adviser had said

Relax man. It is not everyone that is driven by the motivation of being rich. Some people actually have real passions that they love to pursue, and it is just enough for them to be comfortable in life.

The purpose of education is not to get wealth, it is for the development of the mind. The generalized poverty in our community is what makes most people in Nigeria think about nothing other than money.

CHESTER48:
it's funny how you people reason. You are depressed, with your first class, with your sponsorship to travel and study. If you will be poor you will be poor nothing you can do about it. Anything that makes you happy. If all this is to get scholarship hoping that you will get a better job and be Rich, I am sorry you may not, you may even be very poor and die poor. But if it makes you happy then no p. Atleast even if you're poor it won't matter. Goodluck to your goals. Read in between lines.

Take another jamb and try to score up to 300 then when you get admission; try to graduate with 4.9 or above. Afterwards you will become the happiest person in the world.

Rather than more over you CGPA maybe you should be more interested in getting other practical skill that would make you relevant in your field.

I don't even understand how ending up with strong 2.1 backed with profound inteligence and provable brilliance can deny someone scholarship or whatsoever. My brother, I have seen the so called first class fighting for crumbs and those with lower grades making life changing impacts. If you're depressed because you make second 2.1 what do you want those with 2.2, pass or even withdrawal to do? to leap into suicidal thoughts or cease to live?

Chase excellence and satisfaction, success will find you along the line. First class is never a determinant or assurance of trouble-free life.

Even people with 2.2 get scholarships with their high GRE Scores. With your 4pt CGPA , You'll get a scholarship.

That u have first class degree guarantees nothing. A bank MD once told me that they wud rather employ a third class graduate who can bring money than a first class graduate who can't convince anyone to bring money to his bank.

I had a D in 3rd year and that's when I lost my chance to get a first class, after that, it was fun all the way.

I finally graduated with a 4.12.

Las las grades don't really mean much in the 'real' world if you have extra skills that others don't have.

You have to confess positive o, from your confession now, you are confessing negative which is not good at all, remember, what you say is what you have, confess positive that you will graduate with a good grade, you can still make it, that's if you study hard for your final lap, i guess your IT has a point, make sure you write a good report and for your project, you need to try to make A since is a six unit course, then other courses aim for A, in that way, you are sure of graduating with a strong 2.1, all the best.
