This is a very logical solution. I have always maintained it that Osun State should leave LAUTECH for Oyo State, since they already have their own state university "Osun State University". It's just like you having one apple already, and still want to share any apple with your friend. It's not fair!
it doesn't work out that way, it will be tough. They should do the present valuation and pay osun 75% of the total valuation otherwise I think it is a bad deal for osunj

Yea, the deal requires payoff within 2months or a year, can't recollect exactly.
I think Osun should make Oyo sign off making the payment at source of federal allocation.

Osun State will not hand over her 50% interests in LAUTECH without full payment of the university current valuation. It is joint owned and cannot be forced to give out her birthright. Nobody is stopping Oyo State from having another state university

You and your brother both put money together to buy a car. You both shared the cost of purchase and maintenance.

Later, your brother bought another car but still continue to contribute his quota to the car you jointly owed. But you say how can your brother buy another car. That action means you have become the only owner of the old car. You therefore asked your brother never to get near the old car but face the new one.

You are nothing but a thief.

Your brother still has every right to the old car. If you don't want him to use it again, you can only persuade him to sell his shares to you. You can't take it by force.

Don't be a shameless greedy brother.

What's this one saying?

Osun state have no single right over lautech, last I check lautech was once called oyo state university, the only problem is that when they want to create osun out of Oyo state, they should have scarp the part of lautech that's in Osun and build another building for them in Oyo. So stop talking as if Oyo and Osun build the school together.

It is all dirty media politics. This year alone, Osun has contributed much more than Oyo as she has been doing since.

Even Oyo is yet to refute this claim. They are just interested in stealing LAUTECH. Google the news where Osun produced evidences of payments which showed they are contributing more despite Oyo benefiting more.

I think a better solution, especially for the staff and students, would be for the federal government to take over the school and for Oyo state to set up its own university.
Re: Oyo Moves For The Sole Ownership Of Lautech by Jrobert82: 8:47am On Nov 27, 2019
In the history of joint ownership of university by 2 states in Nigeria, it has not been easy to co-fund, co-maintain and co-administer. Examples include EKSU, Ado-Ekiti, DELSU, Abraka. I have always believed that the solution to LAUTECH's lingering problem will be in tandem with the proffered solutions to the above-mentioned universities. The point is that LAUTECH needs help and the issue does not demand media propaganda, but a pragmatic solution.

This your analogy is faulty from all perspectives. OSUN state has struggled consistently when it comes to contributing it quota. Why hold on to an asset you are not ready to maintain? Ownership doesn't mean responsibility. But for progress and healthy growth both should be on the table. Cheers

See gullible people on this thread. Oyo has its own state university called The technical University Ibadan. Osun state has been contributing immensely to the development of LAUTECH and can never back off.

The two state has their own state universities and still share LAUTECH.

I propose the university to be sold to the Federal government.

You should get your head checked. Seriously I don't mean that as an abuse but merely pointing out the obvious.

Someone has finally grown the balls to take the bull by its horns and solve an age-long problem and that's all you would say?

Osun state government starting a state university when it has not been able to consistently fulfill its obligations to LAUTECH is the height of irresponsibility.

If Mr Makinde's proposal is what will solve the problem, then so be it. I am only wondering how they plan to factor in the fact that their teaching hospital is located in Osun state.

Seyi should be magnanimous enough to pay up the osun state share and take full charge.we will now see what the future hold foe the school

Best news of the year
Osun state is putting too much burden on herself by funding too many state schools.
Ekiti state scrapped USTI due to funds. Osun State University and other state schools should be enough for them to fund financially.
Oyo state has more financial capability with no state university.

This battle has been going on for many years prior now.

We've heard this same story countless of times.

The 2 states involved should get their acts together.

This is all that matters .
That's because both state have been in the same party before now. I've been praying for both state to have different political parties as governors for this singular reason.

Osun state don't want to admit it's difficult to fund two state Universities with their allocation. Is it too hard to hold on to the teaching hospital?

Apple ko, banana ni. Tell that to all Ladokites whose futures are being put on hold. I've been in lautech since 2014; strike every year. You are now saying that Oyo is greedy.
