Nigerian government is playing politics with this who border closure they do not really care about the farmers. Go to any cross-border point between Nigeria and Benin Republic they will tell you smuggling is five times higher now than when the border was opened.. just take a trip to idiroko and hear the stories which people are telling you about they are pipelines running villages in Nigeria two villages in Benin Republic 500 m away some of these pipes are irrigation pipes which are 2 inches in diameter the pipes can carry 10000 litres of petrol in 1 hour. The pump the petrol for the village in Nigeria through underground lead pipes to a village in Benin Republic where they have their storage tanks Underground. The smuggling right now it's a lot worse because it is big money.. do not forget Nigeria has 2000 illegal border crossing so it is free for all.

Oh shut up, you ignoramus..... Nigeria cannot ''defeat Boko Haram'' easily because they are a terrorist organisation who do not wear uniforms, and mingle with local populations, and therefore would cause unacceptably high civilian casualties were the military to deploy maximum force to check them. The exact same problem America faces fighting groups like the Taliban and ISIS over several decades. You cannot just bomb them out of existence. Let those African countries countries come with their conventional armies and see how many seconds they will last fighting the Nigerian military.

Bullshit. You are still quoting this American fighting in Iraq nonsense? Pray tell me this. Can you point to any part in US that terrorists have held onto and the US is unable to capture?

They keep condemning Nigeria, they say she is big for nothing, they want to discover their potentials, they want to leave Nigeria to be on her, most especially these South Africans but still yet they smuggle turkey to Nigeria through their so called South Africa Airline. Either you like it or not Nigeria is the major market for all Africa and if you all don't maintain yourself, you might end up finding yourself where you don't like.

*They said we are the poverty capital of the world.
Our President decided that we should just close our poverty stricken borders to the outside world so that we can manage on our own.
Suddenly, scarcity hits Benin republic, Togo, Niger. Demonstration hits Ghana. Vietnam, Thailand and other envoys all came calling.*

*Their economy depends on our poverty.
They are begging the most corrupt nation on Earth to do business with them.
They have no buyers for their commodity.
In our neighbors domain, scarcity have hit them hard.*

It turned out they need us more than we need them.
We have all it takes to stand alone as a nation.
All we need is a plan and a willing leader.

God bless Nigeria*

Who feeds you all these lies?

The problem with Nigeria the Citizens are stuck illiterate all they have is a big mouth with no brain that is how most of my Nigerian people are. Is the border closure prices in Benin Republic togo and Ghana have reduced while prices in Nigeria have increased even inflation is increasing in Nigeria. So who is the border closure really affecting the Nigerian people are suffering more because of the high prices than any other African. Also in Cameroon prices are beginning to fall because of the border closure. Nigeria's problem is the people are stuck illiterate we believe we can do everything ourselves when we have nothing human development index where rank 155 in the world. Performance and achievement where is 148 in the world. Empty vessels make the most noise. Go to sambisa Forest Nigerian soldiers are killing themselves for food and pure water which they don't have the basics

You don't insult a whole nation because the leaders were behaving like animals. The leaders are the one driving us into the grave. The mercies are just innocent.

You have to know most Nigerians are illiterate and illiterate can say anything. Tomorrow they will tell us that Nigeria fought all the African countries and won. All Nigeria is the giant of Africa when in reality it is the giant of poverty. If you look at South Africa and the countries which helped South Africa to get independence Mozambique Zimbabwe these two countries are the ones which lost a lot of soldiers to the apartheid wall where they were being bomb by South African bomber from the air. How many Nigerian soldiers died to make South Africa free

Our greatest threat is "We are a buying nation, nothing to sell other than crude" While Closing the borders doesn't necessarily make us gain, it is severely affecting the economy of our neighbours.
