Is it a case of bowing to fan pressure or a case of constantly tinkering with the formation because he is just as confused with his team’s lacks an identity? Just like you, I have never been a fan of playing Auba outside the CF position because he is lethal with his positioning and ability to make runs.
Playing Auba as the lone CF when all we do is concede possession and welcome all the pressure is nothing but a recipe for disaster because it leaves Auba isolated and that frustrates him a lot because he has to come deep to get involved especially when there is no ball playing/ carrying midfielder.
I'm made to feel so because Arsenal fans in recent times are too vocal and will tell you the players they want to be signed and the formation to be used..

Emery knows he's lost the fans support and he is trying every means to bring them back..

He is confused and just trying anything that will work, something he should have done during the preseason games..

Auba himself said after the spurs game he likes to play the CF,but will play any position he is deployed to.

He should play Martinelli on the LW,he can drive the ball up, press defenders, create chances and also score..
Pepe,Nelson or Niles from the RW with Bellerin and Tierney doing the Arnold and Robertson job..

Auba and Laca should be used like Aguero/Jesus, the season is long, there are many games they will play,
Auba/laca may be dropping some good combination goals, but it won't sustain and make our attack dull with no wing play, as neither is great with the ball.

The midfielders should concentrate on keeping possession, passing to the flanks and shielding the defence..

Also everyone should train on shooting, only Xhaka is good at this, we don't shoot and that's the reason behind our low shot on goal

The front 3 should be ruthless around the box, not always trying to walk the ball in, Rebounce and deflections can happen, De bruyne's deflected shot gave 3 points against Chelsea.

Those were the men, physically and mentally strong..
I remember Henri saying after Jose Mounrinho insulted Wenger with the specialist in failure talk, that a team comprising of him,Viera, ljumberg,Kanu, Campbell and Gilberto will be psychologically drilled to do everything and win the next game against mourinho to shut him up. But when he saw those boys losing 6-0 that year, he gave up on their mental strength..

I'm a fan of players who look strong and dominant as against these sexy boys, softies and jerry curls we parade this days. cheesy grin

After Wenger won the double in 03/04 he began a personal campaign to bring the club down in order to propagate his own football gospel. The proud man chose his personal dream of winning with premature kids over the clubs vision of dominating England. Using the stadium as a cheap excuse, he tried over and over again without success. Yet he persisted. The plan became grand when he reached CL finals in 06 with little known Fabregas and Hleb in midfield and Flameni a midfielder at left back.

After losing the finals in dramatic fashion, he embarked on a wider scale by getting even worse players hoping to satisfy his lust. This man is a sadist. We lost the opportunity to sign the best young prospects then afterwards.

Now here we are.

Inasmuch as I value him as a great tactician who doesn't depend on money to win titles, I feel his pride is what have led to our present state.

Exactly, the man was feeling himself as the best if he can become unbeaten and reach UCL final with kids then he started this nonsense we qualify for UCL every year with out spending. He turned 4th place to a trophy and used stadium as excuse then the board felt this man is becoming something else they came out open to the fans there was money to spend but he refused to or he rather buy mediocre useless one.
Suddenly even the legends were against him from th14, Adams,Wright etc

This is the gospel truth, Wenger's main target was to show the world he is the best by just discovering talents and unknown kids to dominate, he was too rigid and never want to change ways..

That stadium excuse was exposed with Spurs reaching UCL finals, making top4 without spending a dime...

Wenger wasn't that aggressive towards success, he's so relaxed and looks like Emery has been told to come run the club the " Arsenal way".

No, it was Wenger who iniated the war of words,

Wenger-- Some managers are scared to fail, when the reporter asked him about Mourinho's mind games of ahead of big games.

Reporter to Mou: Do you feel Wenger is right managers playing mind games are scared to fail?
Mourinho: I'm not a failure, he(Wenger) is the specialist in failure

Make I no lie, that insult pain me o, like say na my papa him insult, I hated Jose the more that year.

I dey tell you, for me, Wenger in his early years is better than the pep and all

He made Arsenal so lovely, we had the largest no of fans in Nigeria, many top players and young talents wanted to play for us..

When he brought Ozil& Sanchez, the atmosphere changed and we began to win trophies again.
Now imagine he's been bringing in such calibre of players since 2007.

Guess what?
In 2002 he told reporters he could go a whole PL season unbeaten. The following year with no significant signing, he went unbeaten.

Such arrogance, such confidence, such ingenuity.

He refused to replace Eduardo in Jan. That killed our season.

In 2005, he let Vieira go unceremoniously replacing him with a 16year old. Fabregas was far younger, inexperienced, smaller, less physical than Vieira. Everyone wondered how he could do that. That was until Fabregas finished Vieira's career when we beat Juventus in Turin.

Vieira has not forgiven Arsene since then.

We should look at what kind of tactics a coach uses, his mentality and whether it fits our current squad and our current requirements.

We need a coach who can strengthen our defensive organization, improve our players one touch passing and reaction times, and also their body positioning when receiving the balls, train our attacking players to make good runs into space letting our creative players do their job, and also develop some mental fortitude to withstand pressure and tough situations on the field. Then we can build from there.

Any manager who can do that is welcome by me, regardless of his past accomplishments. Accomplishments can be deceiving as there are many factors involved like squad strength, budget allocation, etc.

Personally, I want the new manager to bring a solid one-touch passing oriented style to Arsenal, no wasted movements, no sideways passing, direct one touch ball playing. We waste so much time when we have the ball it’s ridiculous.

Allegri, though is an accomplished manager, I would rather go with someone like Nuno or Arteta as they are in the EPL already. Especially Nuno has done a wonderful job at Wolves, both defensively and offensively. And listening to Nuno speak about his football philosophy and style of play, is quite impressive. Wolves play style really reflect what Nuno says, and he would definitely improve our defensive organization. His one idea that really impressed me is controlling the game even without the ball, through effective defensive organisations and creating trigger points in the field where we can press and win a ball and be at a greater advantage than the opposing team. That doesn’t sound like gegenpresing all over the field like how Klopp does, but pressing with offensive intent and purpose, at vulnerable areas. Sounds like something Arsenal could really do with as we have abysmal positioning in the field.

I'm tilting towards Nuno more than anyone else ATM, realistic and a good gamble..

He brought Wolves from division 2, in his first year, took them to Europa with little budget.

He's got good record against the top sides..

Against Man city.. Won1 0-2 Etihad, Draw1, 1-1 lost1
Liverpool...Won 1(Fa cup) lost 2

Chelsea ....Won 1 drew1

Arsenal... Won1 Drew2

Spurs..Won1, lost 1

Utd Won 1, drew2.

He's qualified for Knockout stage and currently sit on 5th position, he plays high energetic football, spots talents, has a no nonsense look and instills hardwork and bravery.

I'll take him.

Below is a chart showing the good work, it isn't a season wonder nor coincidence..

Wolves like every promoted side is to remain in the league, but he is surpassing the target and doing exceptional with little budget.

Only Ranieri's Leicester has done it better.

If you are giving 3years then Emery still got one left. Any coach joining Arsenal now is on trial which will be for max two years within which if there is no steady improvement will be replaced.

Emery does not look like he'll turn things around here, he could be successful elsewhere..
We can be patient for the first year, but the second year, we need to at least see signs, there were signs at pep and klopp's team in first year..

There's a message going on at Leicester and wolves.

Nuno if after first year shows no improvement, then he shouldn't be rewarded with an extension, 3 transfer windows is enough to clear deadwoods and bring in his kind of players ( he doesn't necessarily need to spend large on any media hyped players, just 2,3 new players with good traits of a modern Bpl quality.

What I meant by third year is that we should have gotten to a stage where we only need a v.dijk and Alisson kind of signing, stock our squad bench with talents and be able to face any team confidently in Europe.
