Baba they still had 3 back up engines but returned to fix the one faulty engine. That is a sane country! Dana knew the plane that crashed only had one functioning engine which had problems too and still decided to fly with it. Do you know how rare and unlikely it is for a plane to lose all 4 engines?

An airplane can still glide if it loses all its engines.

The higher you fly, the better.

I hope they landed safely.

If a plane loses all its engines, let's say its location is Shagamu, cruising at an altitude of 33,000 ft. It can still make it to M.M airport ikeja by gliding.

An Emergency landing would do...

A plane has four engines and can run on only one. They decided to turn back because they lost one engine despite the fact they had 3 back ups. That’s an organization and country that cares about safety of people. If it were a Nigerian airline, they would fire on until the last engine packs up.

are you sure about this statement....??

their are international rules how to fly planes that nigerian pilots adhor to too....

Who made Nigeria a bad country? Are they not your brothers working at the airport begging for money and bribes? or your uncle lecturing and demanding sex from young ladies? or your cousin working in the police?

Who made Nigeria insane.....if not your father that was elected as a gov and now in senate working 2hrs/week to get millions of Naira? or your mum that works in the Ministry of Environment that wouldn't resume work until 10am, and would not do anything tangible till 4:30pm only to get her salary in full?

Do I need to remind you what your brother is doing with his laptop.....or what your younger sister is doing on campus at the moment? I can go on and on....

My message is simple.............we all made this country and bad one including our family members and we must change.
Well said bro.

yes I’m sure. Of course there are rules. But thats my point, This is Nigeria. No one follows rules. Check what happened to Dana. That plane should not have taken off. They must have known it only had one functioning engine. And then that one too failed mid flight. A plane does not lose all four engines in one flight. The chances of that are astronomically low.

You are the one insane...Is the airway a Nigerian airline?.why the Bleep would you cause out nigeria.

Good morning what they meant was you need all engines to land o not that Abuja is a bad city we think of all they unfortunate crashes we’ve had in this country who knows whether na ordinary maintenance mishap wey cause am

All plane engineers need to check that they replace every part properly with their screws and it needs to be inspected and police need to be stationed under these planes before take off.

Some of these mishaps are just because someone didn’t do their job right o

At OP ? I wonder what type of plane it is ?

Not all planes have four engines bro. But the Boeing 747 BA uses for its trips to Nigeria has four engines. Lufhtansa's Boeing 777 used also for its Nigerian trips are equipped with 2 engines.

all modern passenger jet airliners used for mass transportation of people and cargo have four engines bro. We are not talking propeller twin-engine planes here. Those are usually used for training or by private pilots.
Re: British Airways Flight Heading To Abuja Loses Engine Mid-Air by seangy4konji: 7:56am On Nov 28, 2019
All I know is if it was a Nigerian aircraft. This incident would be blwn out of proportion with satanist sites like instablog and that bastard mod that is always quick to push bad new about Nigeria into front page and efcc news and tonto dike news would have derived joy by quickly posting trash just to drive traffic without putting in mind the negative effect on the country...

A lot of bad happens world wide but they know how to manage it without portraying themselves like baboons..

no man.don't be ignorant please..

Big planes like A380 airbus, old bigger 747s are the only ones equipped with 4 jet engines due to weight and capacity..

the plane relevant to this topic we are discussing has how many engines. Of course some old model planes have 2 engines but when last did you see any top airline use a mcdonnell douglas or the likes for long haul flights? I know BA for a fact uses Boeing’s for these long distance and heavily loaded flights so perhaps you are the one that needs to educate yourself on the topic being discussed before you start bringing up irrelevancies to the conversation.

In emergency landing cases, pilots normally choose the nearest airports and in this situation, at best Heathrow seems to be the nearest or at worst, since the aircraft still runs on one engine, the pilot voted to return to base even if there were more closer airports.

But on a serious note, you need to be more concerned about your English more than these trivial issues.
professor of English, thank you for your observation, but I don't need good English to succeed as far as you are able to understand my gibrish. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.

It is what countries that actually value life do.

They call it minor technical issues and yet emergency services were on ground.
