Pls legal guru in the house. I just want to know process of recovering all money in my late sister's account. Until her death, she was a single lady and has parents she use to take care of . Now that she's dead, just seeking the advice of legal guru on how to go about it. I live in Lagos. I will appreciate your reasonable comments . Thanks |

Whoever she used as her next of kin has a right to the account. S/he will need: Affidavit of next of kin Death certificate Letter of administration by court. Newspaper publication about what you are about to do. 1 Like |

Whoever she used as the next of kin will have access. The person will get the necessary document like death certificate and obituary poster, letter of administration from court. An estate account will now be opened where the deceased money will be transferred to. The next of kin can then access the estate account. Let the next of kin approach the bank. |

madridguy:Certain amounts can't be withdrawn over the ATM, he will surely get stuck and the bank will still know. |

if u know her pin , do mobile transfer or use atm to witdraw, or else na probate court tinz, LOA tinz , it takes time you will roger probate staff, you will pay for publication , govt go tax am if the money pass 150k.after u got it the bank will confirm it and use style comot there own 10k from.ur sister acct b4 u access the balance.nija banks are very greedy they will tellu to open estate acct and ask for awhole lot of infomation/ document. oboy their wahala no be for here.if bank no know say she is no more then no tell them yet or else them go block the acct i.e Post no debit.best bet try look for her atm card and pin or ask family members if dem know d pin jejely withdraw her balance 1 Like |

Gforce2015: How come you know that she has some money in her account Does she work and if she works, who is her next of kin Does she trades or do business, if yes which bank does she operate with Have you searched her apartment to see any bank books in her house Did she by any means told you about her financial strength Well when you get to her bank, first of all, they will check who her next of kin is and will direct you to federal High Court for a letter of administrator Bear in mind that after all this struggle, if you are nit the next of kin, kobo will not be released to you So get to know who the next of kin is and join hand with the person 1 Like |
