It might not be stress or hardship.

Sometimes, some people get everything they have ever desired but are still not happy. Unable to detect any meaning to their lives, they become depressed.

These suicides might not even be connected to the present economic situation of the country.

Look at the 400 level student that committed suicide recently. His decision to end his life stemmed from his ability to see any meaning to his life. It could be that nothing stimulates him anymore.

Even suicide rates are higher in developed countries than here. Which means anyone can slip into depression.

We are crying about the shortage of Doctors in our hospitals and these ones are taking their lives.All the years they spent in school studying medicine is now wasted. Pls we need doctors oo..they should not just go like that ooo!..If life is too hard in Nigeria they should rather take their services else where, where they will be appreciated. They deserve better than what they are getting.

I won’t lie or deceive u the economy is toxic and there is no reassurance from the authorities on anything positive beyond the uninspiring words to brag to the opposition.

A president who doesn’t or cannot talk directly to the people on their issues is a serious problem already in itself.

Tell me the reason why an ordinary layman with no knowledge of stress management won't resort to suicide when a trained doctor couldn't deal with depression.

Depression is real

They killed themselves.

I would rather commit suicide than killing myself.
Some of those senseless leaders would die together as well.

Very unfortunate...hopefully no "foul" play.
Medical school is a "beast" in and of itself (as most folks know)..coupled with the conditions probably not being the best (or needing an upgrade) and the pay probably not sufficient enough in the country.
It's not a profession for everyone.
Prayer for medical students, healthcare workers and those who have already become doctors.

I don't understand these people saying Nigeria is this Nigeria is that, how does it relate abeg? Greater percentage of people committing suicide around the world are people we always thought has it all. It's high time people stop attributing everything to bad system in place.

Am going to stay alive see this administration end. Smiles say no to sucide life is so sweet.

I read a report sometime ago, it said doctors are prone to commitimg suicide. They spend so much time caring and being strong for others, that they rarely have time for themselves.

Maybe he have never fall into serious depression before..he would have known the reason.

I have fall into depression like 3 times this year...i always read when am alone .

Many people i trusted have fail me when i needed them the most even my own siblings.
But God mercy kee.me strong.

They thought it was the best decision, but their thinking was wrong.

I still don't get why the target is on doctors. There are hundreds of people who have committed suicide and they night be in different professions. If you do doctors own, then do other professions respectively.

It might not be the profession that chased them to suicide.
