pay depends on school and location. But expect nothing less than 30,000baht. If u find ur self hn location like Bangkok it would b 20% higher

The point remains that teaching is a noble profession but unfortunately, every Dick, Tom and Harry wants to venture into teaching as a pseudo-means of survival in this economic dearth the country is facing. Hence, making teaching to appear as job for the less privileged. Coming to the point made by the Director, I suggest the govt should first of all, elate the livelihood of teachers before placing these conditions above. Imagine a situation whereby someone collects less than 30k per month as a teacher, what's the threat all about? Highest the person will just find his way in another field of life.

Funny enough my best teachers had no Education degree. They had BSc/BA/MSc/MA in their subjects or related disciplines.

They knew the subjects well and able to pass on the knowledge.

Many end up doing B.Ed because they didn't get into their courses of choice. So no motivation to begin with.

Government having failed with proper educational planning and funding are now looking for solutions from the top.
Of course it's about revenue generation. Non-oil sectors must fund budget to provide more money to fund all arms of government.

All shades of 'teachers' will of course become TRCN certified; and the poor educational standards will continue!

I have no doubt that the likelihood of people living an unfulfilling life in this country is many times more than living a fulfilling one.

Corruption in Nigeria have hindered growth in the Nation.

Nigeria is a complex Nation, so is corruption.

Ranging from the political organization, the religious bodies, the corporate organizations... talk more of the TRCN agents.

The TRCN agents are Nigerians like you and I, when Government allocate funds for Developmental Projects, the agents next move is to share testimonies in their various Religious homes as they loot the funds meant to make life easier for you and I.

Don't be surprised that Nigerians who complains about our Government being corrupt are involved in corrupt practices every single day, we only complain when not favored by the system.

We can make it right, but the people who we are to join hands together to effect change are corrupt to the marrow.

Our problems is so so sophisticated, majority Nigerians don't understand.

Non Education graduate teachers are even better off without or without PGDE...So a teacher with NCE or B.Ed or both but not certified & licenced by TRCN will no longer be allowed to practice?

With my B.Ed, I teach in a school with a gross take home of 15k. Where is d 15k to do TRCN registration & 9k every year for renewal?

Meanwhile, people saying non education graduates are better off than education graduates teachers are d real problem of d nation's education system.

Av u guys ever sit down after a chilled bottle of whatever u love & ask yourself, why was Nigeria's education much better & quality assured when only d professionally trained teachers were allowed to teach in our schools then( mostly public schools) Even with less qualifications like Grade 1, Grade 2, NCE etc & the English they spoke then was as old as d old building of d first pry sch in Nigeria.

Every situation in Nigeria is a pressing need. If they have union, the requirements of the Union should be met.

Teaching is a very noble profession, but when we allow all and sundry to teach without the requisite requirement, we make a mockery of ourselves.

We need to press so many reset buttons in several sectors in Nigeria.

Not only unqualified teachers, there are other important professions (e.g doctors, nurses etc.) that have many quacks.

In fact, there are so many quacks in EVERY profession in this useless country!

You still don't get it. In times like this any Agric related course is even more viable than those big names. You don't know how much rice farmers are pocketing now. Rice na oil money.

Some (if not most of) education graduates(including NCE holders) are nothing to write home about when it comes to English speaking and that happens to be the lingua franca of Nigeria. So how will they pass the message properly to the students or pupils (i.e people in general).

Most of those teachers doing well are pure B.Sc or B.A holders that did PGDE or any other professional courses to make them educationally inclined.

If not for the situation of things in the country, do you think all these accidental teachers (Pure B.Sc and B.A etc holders) will go close to teaching in the first place.
