Adjusting GDP to PPP value can help in measuring total spending or rather wealth of a country, on other side nominal GDP determines the market value of a country on international level we can as well use it in determining the economic level of a country. GDP per capita basing it on purchasing power parity determines the inflation rate and living standard. But your logic is making sense.
