The production cost is cheaper in China than it will be in the US so if Apple starts production in the US, the end user will have to pay more to buy thier product.

Talk is cheap. Sounds like another APC. How many Americans would be ready to work for the same Chinese hourly wages? At $10 per hour, for sure iPhone 6 wouldn't sell for less than 400,000 Naira. Global sales would drop.

A Chinese worker would agree to work for 25 percent of an American worker's pay. And passionately too! So their product turns out cheaper.

Foxconn, the contract manufacturers of Iphones is setting up a plant somewhere in Midwest USA. Part of its initial plans was to make iPhones in the US but was forced to jettison the idea as they couldn't find enough workers in the US ready and able to do the job required.

These politicians don't know anything.

It is but it may not include iPhone production due to not finding sufficient numbers of workers with the attitude of those in China. Learnt those IPhone plants are not for the soft hearted. It is gruesome work.

Even if it produces iPhones, it will be a fraction of what was initially planned. Foxconn only wanted to set up a plant to please Trump.

Trump protectionist action is based on his ideal what fair trade should be. He believes America is being cheated and taken advantage of by it's big trading partner to the detriment of Americans.

Buhari on the other hand simply believes Nigeria should have no.business importing what the country can make. He's an advocate for self sufficiency
