Roland17:
Ljunberg made this game more complicated than it should have been with his first team selection and substitutions. While I like the decision to drop Sokratis, I questioned the inclusion of Mustafi and Kolasinac even though Holding and Bellerin did not make the travel. The midfield selection was worse and definitely a head scratcher with Willock/ Xhaka with former giving his worst performance.
I know you left out guen intentionally grin
I hope lyunberg learn quick, his subs were late and torreira should atleast start in midfield if we will have some useless one with him

He's not a reasonable person. How can you be hating on a boy doing his job for this long? If you don't watch football, you'll think Guendozi is a terrible player.

And when baba face SARS, he lost his voice sad

Even this one that told us to wait till October, turned against Emery and support LFC is trying to show face.
Klopp should buy him then

What I learned from the game

1.. Even tho I slated guendouzi for being a limited player, but today seems to be one of his best display as an arsenal player. He gives forward passes, key passes, made him self available (as usual sha), and he even drove forward with the ball unlike before and he didn't unnecessarily held onto the ball. Easily our best midfielder in the day. Shout out to him, and if he keeps up like this, I will be glad seeing him in our first eleven. Kudos also to torreira for the two goal bound blocks and interception.

2.. This ought to very last game of willock. Hardly tracks back, loses ball unnecessary, and wasn't even in the game sef. He is playing as if he's a superstar and the first goal was really his fault. I hope ljumberg doesn't start doing favoritism towards him.

3.. We all know the combination of luiz and mustafi is bad...but mehn, mustafi is worst. At fault for the two goals, easily beaten time and again,, slow to react to danger. Just reminded us of why we all disliked him.
Also 3/4 of that defence ought to be in the bench. Bellerin and Tierney with Luiz and holding(chambers) suppose to be our back 4. Chambers was awful as rb, and infact, that right wing as a whole was dead either defensively or attack-wise

4..we needed wingers since our play was through the wing, why he waited so long to bring in a tricky winger is what I don't understand. Our wing play was dead, even tho that's the area with the greatest heat map.

5.. We need to sort out our midfield and defence. How we're overrun in both midfield and defence is alarming. We won't go anywhere with 2/3 of our playing department being very very awful.

You said today was one of guen best game and you also said we should sort out our midfield stay one place na bros cos guen was part of the midfield and they had a bad game in my opinion if not he won't be sub off.
Mustafi was shit but you can't put the goals conceded entirely on him, willock caused us twice and his partners couldn't help the defence we saw what torreira did twice when the midfield lost possession too
I don't understand why Freddie waited that long to bring in new players.
Overall I hope he now see these players strength and weakness for his next line up against hammers

Sell off xhaka and mustafi
Guendouzi should be a squad player not starting, build the midfield around torreira.
Simple wink

Point 1,Now imagine Guendozi under a GradeA manager with sensible senior players mentoring youngsters performance. Kudos you could swallow pride and say it as it is. I hope you can see Mr cocaine puffer not knowing what to say since Emery's gone and Guen didn't give a Chambers,Mustafi,Kolasinac, lacazzete,Saka and Willock's kind of performance.

Point 2, Willock is not ready, this isn't carabao or pre season, maybe Freddie wants to prove his u23 project for us..

Point3.. Luiz and Mustafi are too similar in that they like to go high up, they are more of ball playing than defending, I don't rate Chambers as Arsenals standard, he is bench CB at best. We need to bring in Lewis Dunk from Brighton

Point4..I'm never a fan of Auba/laca, those 2 make our attack blunt and dull, they both aren't great with the ball, you need an Henri like player for 2 upfront, even Puki was aggressive and more purposeful with the ball, I'll go for Pepe,Martinelli or even Niles on the wings..

Point5..we'll continue to get over run in the midfield because we lack the personel to boss and hold it.
Xhaka..too 1footed, immobile, bad tackler and only spray long passes
Guendozi..Not big, strong and matured enough, gets tired and joggs a lot in the game, he runs and only tries his best
Torreira..good tackler and blocks well, but too small to dominate and gets muscled off a lot.
Norwich's Amadou was good.

Yes as a whole the midfield was crap, but in isolation, I feel guen was head and shoulder above all of them today. He was the only one running towards the opposition goal, giving forward passes, key passes and even some tackles and interception. The less said about his partners the better. Now I ask, if only one of the 4 players tried his best, how then do you expect the midfield as a whole to perform?. That's why I said the midfield was bad, doesn't mean guen in isolation was bad. I least expected Freddie to sub of guen.
Also, the first goal was really willock and mustafi fault. After willock lost the ball and refused to chase back, the through ball to pukki was suppose to be intercepted by mustafi or at least closed down, but no, mustafi gave him all the time and space in the world to set, adjust and his still have to deflect the shot sef to net. What even annoyed me sef was that he even left pukki to start guarding post, and pointing another person to mark him.
For the 2nd goal, same thing, he didn't close down the guy that assisted cantwell. He was just foolishly ducking backwards, while the guy have all the time and space to pass to cantwell who greatly scored the goal.

bros it's no coincidence since late last season this boy entered the midfield we struggled.
There's no harm in removing him for now

Norwich's Amadou was good.
Yeah, I'm now beginning to think emery limited him. He was really a changed player today. Xhaka just need to go our of the club sha. If guen continue like this, I'll prefer torreira and guen as our base players till I see ceballos back from injury. Also Amadou was good cos our midfield was scrap. Also,I didn't see any spectacular play from him today.
I really agree with your number 4. We need wingers, I just hope pepe is rejuvenated back cos those two together really dull our attack. Auba as our main striker, laca from bench biko.
With No5, I feel the personnel is OK if under the right tutelage.
We'll see how next game pans out sha. Ljumberg flop with the start up 11, I'll help for a better 11 next match

I think we do concede simply because our midfield offers no protection to the back four. This is because our MFs are ball playing and not destroyer type of DM.
How about we try AMN in the DM position.
1. He has the physique, pace and height. Though he sometimes lose concentration.

2. He will concentrate mainly on defending thereby freeing other MFs to enable them carress the ball wella ...Lolz

The other alternative is David Luiz . His long passes will also come handy but I don't know why I don't trust the guy.

if at least one of those two don't renew, how we wan take get goal through the season na. At least let one of them go if we want to groom martinelli for the nearest future not just pursuing both.
Tho, I don't believe we're a mid table club yet sha. Teams around us are floundering except Leicester and Liverpool.

nketiah is improving, these 2 bromance is affecting the club they are not playing like they are competing and auba is not a winger

Exactly, presently, I prefer Auba to laca, so I would want laca to give way. Let martinelli and nketiah understudy Auba till dey are ready. It's surprising how we deploy wing play during matches but use personnel who can't play wing at all. It's really annoying

I'm happy you also realise we need the destroyer in the mould of Thomas Partey, else our oppositions will just be doing Partey after Partey from our middle...

Last AMN played there, it was catastrophic, though I think he can play it if well trained, Luiz could be good to..

Stuffs like this are better experimented in the pre-season, Should Freddie be trying such now and he fails at it, he'll be labelled Emery2.0, Mr Tinkering.

He has no choice. He can try it in training. As it is now , it is either we continue to leak goals or find temporary solution which is AMN.
