Specilalized universities are the way to go. However I think when establishing them we should consider our critical needs and comparative advantage.

To this end an institute that specialises is enerfy studies and the development of solar power would have been a lot more useful since that state is in a region that is presently energy disadvantaged but has massive opportunities of land, and climate potentials to harness that natural rrsource and really make for development of the country.

I have said it for a while now, that just one state alone in the far north can supply all the electricity and green energy that Nigeria needs for the next thousand years just as it has been shown that the Sahara has the space and natural resources to supply solar energy to the entire planet and effectively replace every fire breathing turbine in the world.

I am more of an entrepreneur than just a traveler that is why.

There a few African countries that can make me achieve favorable economic strides than Nigeria that kills everything in its path.

But I hope you consider better countries. If you have a master degree it’s almost 90% sure that you will get into USA coz their student visas are actually guaranteed when you apply for PhD.

If you have an undergraduate degree, you can apply for masters here in USA and admission is guaranteed even without GRE or TOEFL. But the main issue is that the visa chances for masters student continue to decline since Trump took over except if funding can appear on your student I20 document.

I bet you, coming to USA for schooling above undergraduate level will be a better decision than moving to another African country as an entrepreneur (unless if you have lot of capital) which more or less are just a lil better or even worse than Nigeria.

The Korea National University of Transportation (KNUT) is a public, national university in Chungju City, North Chungcheong province, South Korea. The university was created in 2012 by merging Chungju National University and Korea National Railroad College. Chungju National University was established in 1962 in Chungju, which is one of the public Universities that established after independence. Korea National University is the only public university specialized and focused their education and research on transportation and communication on top of Engineering and Technology.

”Finally, I insisted on the University of transportation and today we are here for the groundbreaking of the University and for all we are grateful to CCECC and the Chinese government.”

FG Approves National Transportation University in Daura — Amaechi
The Federal Executive Council has approved construction of the $50 million (N18bn) Transportation University to be located in Daura, Katsina State which was billed to commence by next year, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said.

Briefing journalists in Abuja recently, the minister said the university would be built by China Civil and Construction Company (CCECC).

The project was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to develop qualified manpower that would manage the many railways facilities across the country and other transportation facilities, Amaechi added.

In addition to Katsina, another Transportation University might be built in Rivers State to meet the growing demand of manpower in the transportation sector.

He said the contract has already been awarded to CCECC and the construction would have commenced if the governor of Katsina State had provided land for it, adding that once the state government provided the land, CCECC will mobilize to site and fence the land for construction to start.

He said the young Nigerians being trained on scholarship in China on Railway Engineering upon completion of their studies would be deployed to teach in those universities for a period of time before they are allowed to do other endeavours.

“If we get the land, the fencing will start this year. The CCECC has written to ask for land from the state government,” he said.
