APC began with lies and it will end with lies.

I thought that APC had ceased from blaming the former govt for its ineptitude but I was wrong.

I'm sure in 2023 they will still be blaming PDP(despite the fact that 90% of the pillars of PDP moved to APC)

Shame on Jonathan, Obasanjo cancelled all of our National Debt (FG) , Yaradua didnt borrow, but Jonathan earned high dollars from crude Oil and left FG debt at $63bn without anything visible like standard guage rail(lagos- ogun- ibadan) or Second Niger Bridge, and New AirPort Terminal

And to the PDP Dunce qouting Nigeria's total debt (internal and external) (36 States + FG) N28trn, you should understand FG only owes $68bn out of that while useless state owes the rest, and it would shock you to know that the state actually owes the FG especially PDP state like Abia who borrowed bail out fund and squandered it while living debt for abians

....

I thought there is somewhere they wrote " as at 2010..........$35bn. and Jonathan was not president from January 2010. Who could have accumulated that debt?

Bros you are mixing up foreign debt with domestic debt figures which includes federal government bonds, contractor payments etc. So ask yourself what is the debt incurred on say contractor payments since 2015? Were 80% of these not passed over contracts from pre 2015 e.g 2nd Niger bridge, ibaden expressway etc? Why do you think VAT is going up and tax regimes are being enforced.

Bros, debt is not the issue. The real issue is what the debt is incurred for. Compare debt to buy a Bugatti which is a depreciating asset with debt to build an office tower block in ikoyi.

Just shouting liar and showing three or four figures is no denouement. You will have to do better than that. Try for instance comparing Nigerias debt to gdp ratio with other developing countries.

Not getting at you. Just inviting you to look deeper. You will find evidence to hang or acquit the FGN. It's not the slam dunk you are implying.

Pardon typos

As at 2007 when Obasanjo left power the debt was zore, isnt Jonathan part of Yaraduas gorvernment ? so he and Yaradua raked $35bn and rose it to $63bn so what did he use it for

Brush up your economics.

When Jonathan left office, public debt was equal to 12% of GDP. GDP then was around $500bn.

Multiply 12% by 500bn and you have $60bn

As of now, debt burden has shot up to 22% of GDP under Buhari.

This is not a PDP or APC. This is simple economics.
Quit acting like you know what you are talking about. Getting a brief from your paymaster to type nonsense makes you look stupid.

The only thing I'm advancing is the truth. The truth which so many people cant see, or intentionally refuse to see or believe when it doesnt favour their narrative. The human nature is indeed funny.

Nigeria’s total debt as at June 2010 stood at $35bn (~N5.25 trillion at an exchange rate of N150/$),
Nigeria’s total debt as at June 2015 just after handover stood at ~$61bn (~N12.12 Trillion at an exchange rate of N199/$)
Nigeria’s total debt as at June 2019 stand at ~$84.3bn (~N25.7 trillion at an exchange rate of N305/$).

Now this simple information above can be weaponized by politicians and swung in virtually any direction:

PDP Argument: "Our total debt was N12.1 trillion in 2015 but PMB has more than doubled it to N25.7 trillion in 4 years."

APC Argument: "Our total debt was ~$61bn in 2015 and it's only ~$84.3bn now; we added only $23bn even at a time of low oil income, however our loudest critics (PDP) added $28bn to our debts between 2010 and 2015 and also depleted reserves despite high oil price."

...and the arguments continue, and the people fail to ask questions but just swallow words of their favourite politicians.

And you think you have posted something intelligent. This new brief given to guys will only make you guys look more stupid as usual
Re: Buhari Inherited $63bn Debt, BMO Tells Atiku by archipelago: 9:51pm On Dec 03, 2019
we have agreed with the analysis of the debts owed on yearly basis. You referred to $10billion as meager amount borrowed by President Buhari? You are not wishing this country well by saying $10billion is a meager amount borrowed by the president.

I just read through all your comments on this thread and noticed you've been on a deranged rampage, insulting everyone without as liitle as making a single contribution. You really do think 'intelligence' is when you go online and just spew insults right?

A sane human would definitely have been able to point out what numbers I listed or what part of my explanation which he doesnt agree with. But obviously, I over estimated the functionality of the brain cells of the person I quoted.

Proof you arent a retardd yourself by just countering a single thing I said or a single figure I posted.

I'm neither APC or PDP. I can't even stand Buhari. I hardly have anything good to say about him.. You don't need a rocket scientist to understand what I just wrote.

In your quest to disprove critics of Jonathan, you throw economic reality away.

You are looking at the debt the wrong way. If your driver owes N1million, and Dangote owes 10m, who has a greater debt burden? I'm sure you'll say your driver.

Nigeria's debt at 12% of GDP was actually very good. and one of the lowest in the world.

Look at the public debt burdens as percentage of GDP of various countries. Find out how Nigeria compares with others
