Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumosu,has lost his sight completely after a prolonged illness.

Odumosu popularly know as Pa Kasumu has been battling with a heart-related ailment that affected his memory and eyesight.

Pa Kasumu, 66, went completely blind after failing to raise sufficient money to fund his trip to India to continue his treatment.

Pa Kasumu was first reported ill in 2013 when he suffered a partial stroke

He had gone to India in 2015 for treatment and his condition improved .

Odumosu on his return to Nigeria after his first trip to India confessed that his vision had improved due to constant use of eye drops and that he no longer feels pain in his body.

He was required to return to India two months after the initial trip.

The actor’s condition reportedly worsened in 2017 after he was unable to raise sufficient fund for the second trip to India for further treatment.

While running to source for funds for the trip, he lost his international passport in the process.

It got to a point where members of his family had to move him from his home in Abeokuta to his elder sister’s residence at Aseese, an Ogun community situated off the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Aside being completely blind, the veteran actor also has a problem with walking. He walks with the support of people.
Pa kasumu’s present condition became public knowledge after he attended a programme launched for ailing and aging Nollywood veterans.

The programme is an initiative of Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola.

The initiative tagged, ‘Nolly veteran SOS Project 2019’, is an offshoot of ‘Passion Against Rape and Abuse in Africa Foundation’ (PARA Africa) which the actress launched in 2015.

Daramola said she organised the event to bestow lifetime achievements awards on deserving Nollywood veterans and also kick-start a humanitarian initiative in earnest for their upkeep.

Recall that in 2013, Pa Kasumu sought help from fans to pay his medical bills.

Ignorance at its peak, there's nothing like Yorubawood rather, ANTP and Nollywood is the umbrella body for all the practitioners.

So unfortunate he didn't get the needed help before things degenerated to that extent of losing his sight. Entertainment in Nigeria is overrated, especially, Nollywood sub-genre of the industry.

They should please come perform their miracle with him.

He is really a versatile actor... unfortunately Nigerians don't have the capability to think deeply.look at one of the finest actors in Nigeria and as big as Nigeria is no one, not even the financially comfortable Can raise funds for his health till he went blind yet some clowns were thinking of raising funds for tacha...smh.. what a pity.i wonder when we will appreciate our own

I saw the emotional video of yinka quadri crying when he saw pa kasunmu.. you will know he was doing a lot of restraing from breaking down when he saw pa kasunmu.you will know he was really crying on the inside..

Even government should try and invest in health facilities na.why are we so cruel in this country self.

The females are also affected. One female died recently due to cancer complications.
