Generally, Hyundai Elantra is cool for the job.

For this specific car, it's Nigerian used; so #1 million asking price seems okay. You should be able to negotiate it to #800k - #900k if ... a good mechanic engineer you trust checks it out in and out and certifies the car okay.
Thanks boss

The fact that they will still tell you to politely remove it after all your explanation means you are not doing the right thing.

And that's if the MPs that meet you have their head correct on the day they meet you. Should you be unfortunate to meet MPs wey their head dey turn 24/7, they will completely mess you up.

Stop using Military insignia if you are not one of them.

My 2 Kobo.
I never said it's the right neither is it an offence. But if you can do it to scare touts and reduce ur fine from frsc and the rest then do it... Secondly if a sodier tells you to remove it, he is just being embittered or probably had a rough day...
Worst case scenario is if you claim to be a sodier or you commit an offence that's when they will deal with you. Or you run a one-way on military guided road but anything outside this is fine. Take it or leave it

Please elders in the house... Is Hyundai Elantra good for this hustle? Want to know before engaging the owner on negotiations and possible inspection. Mileage is 175000. I need your candid advise also on the value.

Well spoke with owner... Said they just sold it.

Please I stand to be corrected... But it seems registered clean cars are cheaper at Abuja than here in Lagos.

True.
Abuja-used cars are cheaper and far better (gently-used) than Lagos-used cars; in my opinion.

If he's laundering money, add 70% of the sum
If he's moving hard drugs, add 200% of the sum
If he's moving human heads,..... You know what to do cool
