Seriously o, small small, we're just going down.
Surprising how we all started this season with optimism and hope for top 4, but Emery just scatter everything.

I think the best Formation based on personnel available at the Club presently is 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 Formation. If I am the Manager of this unfortunate, hopeless Club, I will definitely try out the below Lineup;

_________________ Leno ________________

Chamber _______ Papa ___________ Luiz

Bellerin ___ Xhaka ___ Torreira ___ Tianey

_________________ Ozil ________________

_______ Pepe ____________ Auba __________

I will instruct Xhaka to sit deep, while Torreira will have the freedom to operate as a B2B Midfielder.

Defensively, Xhaka will be joining the back three and the WBs to making it 5 Defenders, while both Auba and Pepe will be ready for Counter at any given Opportunity.

Bros where is Jerry curl in this line up of yours, btw our defence is useless with 4 defenders they are super duper useless with 3 man defence too.
This current squad is a disgrace to football especially the midfield
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick:
Freddie Ljungberg is already looking to stamp his own identity on Arsenal’s playing style and gave away a few clues as to how he wants the team to play in training this week.

The Swede was handed the reins after Unai Emery was sacked last Friday following a dismal run of results, having not won a Premier League match since beating Bournemouth at the start of October.

Although Ljungberg’s reign did not get off to the ideal start, only drawing against relegation candidates Norwich City, he had only been given one session to work with the players. Ljungberg instructed the players on how to avoid the opposition’s press. But his ideas came though more clearly in footage from this week’s training, with Ljungberg and assistant Per Mertesacker putting the players who did not start at Carrow Road through their paces.

Arsenal were often criticised for their slow, pedestrian build-up play under Emery, but the Spaniard’s successor is looking to bring quicker, more incisive passing to the team and that was evident in his drills and instructions. In a two-touch exercise, Konstantinos Mavropanos got an excitable reaction from his manager when he took four players out of the game with a defence-splitting diagonal pass.

‘Yes! That’s the pass I like,’ yelled a delighted Ljungberg, who got the players together to explain his ideology further. ‘The pass, when Lucas [Torreira] is here and we find the diag [diagonal pass], is amazing. No team can defend against that diag into the pocket.’

There was clear emphasis on Arsenal playing out through pressure and finding pockets of space, with Ljungberg demanding intensity throughout the session. He also pulled up youngster Gabriel Martinelli for taking too many touches in the drill and explained the best way to avoid pressure from the opposition: ‘If you stand closed, you have to take two touches. We try to work on. Give me the ball, I’m open, then you don’t get done on your press.’ Ljungberg reportedly failed to see eye-to-eye with Emery on a number of tactical decisions and will have the opportunity to try and implement some of his own methods when Brighton visit the Emirates on Thursday

I've always had the opinion that the useless Emery-ball nonesense must be flushed out of the boys' system for them to be great. I think Freddie is moving in the right direction. Even if that will be the only job he does before a permanent manager takes over, I'm okay with it.

Asking Papa to man your centre defence is like asking Mia Khalifa to be your wife.

Ljunberg is reintroducing Wengerball no doubt. Quick two touch exchange heavily dependent on movement on and off the ball, with players forming little triangles.

If Ramsey was still available he would have been captain/leader because he so much understands the tactics. Also expect the best from Ozil and Auba.

I'm all in for that, provided he teaches them to shoot along with the passes.

Lol, you don finally dey top us now, we no go hear word.
Back to the matter,
Xhaka, as your 4 can't work. Wenger tried it, Emery tried it, all failed. He can't tackle, can't mark without causing foul, etc. And he's to slow to react to press. That's doom number 1. Papa as your central heart of defence? Lol...
See eh, the personnel for this formation no go work. To many lazy players full everywhere. Except you just bring am so that you go see your rival club go down down below...which e no go work tongue tongue

I swear, we were so slow and worst of it predictable during Emery. I remember how we passed the ball from back against Norwich and within seconds we're in midfield... But if na Emery, na even opposition go deh arrange in front of our box as if dem be defenders.

Me too really. We want to see beautiful football and get back to winning.

Reintroduce zonal marking which I think is better, and allow players to shoot from a reseanable distance.

No be small thing.

It was appalling watching the yeye build-up from the back by shaky players. Imagine a player like Sokratis who would rather do jam-body than playing ball with his foot being made to play from the back.

Yes o, let them try shooting. I still relish the several shots Sanchez took including the FA cup final against Aston Villa.

I was honestly. Especially factoring our buys, rookie lampard as manager with transfer ban, and man u still having ole as their coach plus their thin squad.
I was overly optimistic for a 4th place finish. I didn't even factor Leicester would be in diz kinda form sef

For me, when we sold our only direct runner in Iwobi for unproven youngsters, I knew we are in for something hard, my last hope was on Ceballos and Pepe( to give attacking mazy runs to break down defense and speed up our play) only for them to be infected with the slow sideways Arsenal culture.

The truth is, most teams outside top6 have players more talented, energetic with good fighting spirit than our boys.

The Liverpool, Leicester, city and Chelsea have not had it easy, they hustled for most of their points.
Its hard in England, we need a rugged coaching crew and rugged players, Somebody said imagine Mane and Kante in one team? Mehn thats insane. We need a Reminisce not Wizkid's kind of personnel. cheesy

This fighting spirit all boil down to the coach, and like you said, we need a rugged coaching crew. If mane and Kante are in arsenal, I bet you, dem for don mellow. Check most players that came here hot, and compare dem now, all it's cos of our coaching crew. So I believed that if we have that fighting spirit, at least, 3rd or 4th we would be now, or just few points lower. Imagine how bad we are, b4 yesterday's game, we were still trailing 4th with 7points. Then imagine us been at our best. Mehn, if I tell you how I miss champions league and how Emery dey vex me eh...

Also for iwobi, Pepe was his direct replacement, only that he was not managed properly and he lost confidence. I hope ljumberg restores it back to him

Chop knuckle my brother.. if they are healthy especially Holding, he should be starting. I don’t mind a Holding/ Chambers combo at this point. We have had enough nightmares with Sok/ Luiz/ Mustafi.

You are right, Sanchez was the last player who didn't get infected with the lazy culture. Mane/Kante may look like Saka/willock in their first 2 weeks.
The fighting spirit is my choice for Nuno Espirito or his kind, his first work will be to instill the attitude in those who can cope, get rid of those who can't and bring in new players who has that personality trait.
Pepe and Iwobi are not that similar, Pepe dribbles, cuts in a lot, not that fast and not yet fully adapted.

Yeah, I wanted to talk about Sanchez sef when writing that but it skipped my memory along the way. Sanchez was so different from our players that I feel the players don't even get along with him at all. I heard he's one of the least loved arsenal player among his teammates even tho he was clearly our best player. Guess that's why he was fed up at arsenal.
To be sincere, I still doubt nuno, I dunno why. Not that he's not punching above his weight but I no just dey reason am. Lol.

If Pepe is back to his best, he'll be a better upgrade than iwobi, cos he'll guarantee goals that iwobi never guarantee and taking on defence just like iwobi. Why we dey shout iwobi for here since is that Pepe have not lived up to expectations. If only iwobi that's our runner last season, even as he's limited, and w/o a replacement is giving us trips, how much more a confident Pepe with sub like martinelli or saka (and Nelson too, I really hope he improves), coming from the bench. You'll just find yourself forgetting iwobi was even an arsenal player. That's why I said he's a replacement, but it haven't worked out yet
