I Think Nairaland Ads Worth Penny Spent. What's Your Take? by SoulbrodaLagos: 8:41am On Dec 08, 2019
Hello Fellow Advertisers,

Nairaland is an authority site in Nigeria. According to Similarweb, Nairaland ranked 6 top sites in terms of traffic and 1,425 top sites in the world as at the time of writing this post.
So, a wise advertiser/publisher should make use of Nairaland traffic depending on the nature of the business viz-a-viz audience. Moreover, Nairalanders are mostly males that are tech savvy and well exposed an their 20's to 50's. Based on these and other factors, i try to utilise the opportunity by advertising our email marketing software www.onenairaemail.com

Here are result of my ads stats for 7 days. However, i need some clarity/explanation as regards to HITS & CLICKS

Total Hits =141,529
Total Clicks = 924
Total money spent = #3,239.31

For the clicks reported, we only got 344 new users/unique visitors as reported by the installed Google Site Kit. What could have happened?

Also for the HITS. How Nairaland algorithm measures the hits? Is it by the number of pages opening per time.

If you know answer to the unclear areas, kindly assist.

But, we are happy with the result we get for our service. We actually run ads for Nigeria's first email newsletter software. You don't need monthly subscription to send email newsletter to your subscribers. Just pay as you need. Do away with expensive software like MailChimp, Aweber.

Thank you

is the ad getting you more clients or not? it isn't about hit and click, I won't pay for people to hit and click on nairaland.

OP this is a very insightful post...mostly because there are not many people who discuss this topic so its hard to gain deep insights on nairaland ads. I have had people give multiple good experience and bad reviews but one thing I notice with naira land ads is that it is extremely good for indigenous business. the hits ate based on each time the ads are displayed...while the inflation in clicks is obviously due to bots and some people carelessly clicking it...(it happens to me quiet often too. mistakenly clicking ads)
Like I said it is a very good service worth every penny spent. but sometimes back when I needed to market an eBook...I had to look for an alternative (affiliate link in my Ziggy. would love u to check it out) one advantage of this one is that the ads are displayed on websites of top Nigerian newspapers including music portals like 9jaflaver...so when people shuffle sites they keep seeing ur ads...you can as well select different ads model...like u can decide to pay for just hits or unique clicks. (they measure unique clicks based on this formular. the ip that generated the click must perform an action on your site or spend at least 60seconds. that way 'mistake clicks' are not counted so u won't have to pay for it. They also give advertisers free advertising credit when they sign up via afflink. all in all...they are a good alternative to nairaland ads if you want insights...good metrics and quality clicks.
Mailgun have been doing me somehow in recent times. I will check out your service!

So which moderator’s alternate account was given the responsibility to post this?

I find it shameful that at 3,000 NGN for 7 days of exposure some people will rather spam the forum with their advertisements than pay the small fee. It shows the level of individuals who visit here: broke, low-class humans looking for the next person to scam or the quickest way to make a buck without financial investment.

That was my experience as a new advertiser here. Is not about a moderator alternating account. I have not been active on Nairaland for many years (i created my first account in circa 2009 which i can't remember again). So, i created a new one as there is a need for it.

Although, I'm not supporting spammers. I think i chose the boards carefully.

In my own opinion, I think it all depends on what you want to use Nairaland Advertising for.

If you need to drive targetted traffic to your website, with the view to get leads and SEO, then nairaland is brilliant.

Just like lindaikejisblog sponsored post is good when trying to give a product exposure in Nigeria, so is Nairaland AD good for getting traffic.

As to if one can get sales from Nairaland ADs, I cant tell really for now.

Because we tried Nairaland.com ad for our Online Store Solution at https://369digitalmarketing.com/onlinestore.php when we launch 2 months ago, yet, no sales, but we have enjoyed massive traffic.

The best way to advertise a product is using atleast three known channels to get started and focusing on the best one that yields result

The best way to lunch a new products for is banner /vedio ads

So Facebook may go a long way

The best way to lunch a new services is banner/search ads

The best way to lunch your song is via platforms provided for such media and audience

Nairaland is really not good for services except you hope to collect emails /contact for remarketing and retargeting

Same as Facebook

If you are hoping for fast sales for a particular service..not products

The best is to do some BH stuff on Google

It's not cool ,but who cares..man most survive

If it's works ..continue in the light

If it dosnt.. Then stop

But by this time..you have data to make better judgement

Ads takes lot of effort and cash to succeed
