President Buhari Reacts To Anthony Joshua's Victory Against Andy Ruiz by HeWrites(m): 9:42am On Dec 08, 2019 |
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Anthony Joshua, for regaining his belts on Saturday night in a rematch with Mexican, Andy Ruiz Jnr. The President, in a congratulatory message by his spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina in Abuja on Sunday, rejoiced with Joshua, saluting him for bringing joy to millions of Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora, Igbere TV reports. Igbere Tv reports that Joshua beat Andy Ruiz Jr on a unanimous points decision in Saudi Arabia to seize back the heavyweight world championship belts he lost to his Mexican-American opponent in a shock upset last June. The ‘Clash on the Dunes’ in Diriyah was for the IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO titles, and judges scored the fight 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 to the 30-year-old Briton. President Buhari noted that Joshua’s supporters across the world had rooted for him to regain the titles he lost about six months ago. “The downfall of a man is truly not the end of his life. There’s always another, and better day. This is a lesson we must all learn from you as a country,” Buhari told the comeback world champion. He wished Anthony Joshua well ”as he seeks to bring more glory to Nigeria, and to the boxing profession”. https://twitter.com/NigeriaGov/status/1203577580319887360?s=19 http://igberetvnews.com/1183072/president-buhari-reacts-to-anthony-joshuas-victory-against-andy-ruiz/ Lalasticlala Mynd44

Buhari could react on how Anthony Joshua maltreated Andy Ruiz, but could not react on how the DSS maltreated Sowore. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Shouldn't this fool be addressing DSS madness which is directly answerable to him? Here his congratulating a Briton for winning a fight in the name of Britain not Nigeria o. Seriously, who do us this thing?? 3 Likes 2 Shares |

everything about the presidency reeks of insults to the general populace. The Man u are congratulating wouldn't have achieved any piece of progress if he were in Nigeria. Under your inept leadership many youths have lost their lives. May God Almighty treat you the way u have rendered Nigerian Useless |

Rednaxelot: Exactly My thought, The president chooses what to react to and stays silent on issues of national importance. He's very deliberate in his actions....make no mistake, the President volunteers goodwill and Congratulatory messages to even people or matters that dont concern him directly, whereas he has little or no achievement at home to elicit such Congratulatary messages Imagine, the speed with which he Congratulated AJ.. it took him one week or so to react to the slain Kogi woman politician that was burnt to ashes. Who brought this mallam on Us!!! |

Awol1: Shut up. Is it every issue you irredeemable haters must taint with your bad belle for others? Joshua himself strongly identifies as Nigerian and African. Boxing for the UK does not mean he has total disregard for his Nigerian roots and the part that played in his success today. Buhari sent a classy message to Joshua. Choose another thread to bi.t.ch about DSS lest you find yourself becoming one of those irritants everyone hates because they talk off-topic always because of bad-belle. |

Father, Remove d big logs from your eyes before you talk about d broomstick in mine. How can u be watching boxing in Saudi Arabia and pretend not to see d one happening freely in a court in Abuja. |

NyenwePHC: And you are ignorant if you don't know the part Joshua's Nigerian roots played in his success. You haters just love to open your mouth ignorantly. AJ you want to disenfranchise from his Nigerian roots, because of your hate for Buhari and Nigeria, actually strongly identifies with everything Nigerian in his daily and personal life from closest friends, food, music etc. You all need to get a life because most of you are not living any more. You are just hating and waiting to use anything to appease that hate in your soul. |
