Uyo the capital city of Akwa ibom state is blessed with good road network and has been a bright spot in the otherwise doomed city's across the oil rich Niger delta, plague with bad roads and underdevelopment.

Uyo street lights had fallen into disrepair due to vandalism and lack of maintenance.
But state government decided to change all that by making Christmas 2019 memorable, it has lined up lots of activities to celebrate Christmas some of which includes the Guinness book of world record winning 9,999 Christmas Carol a gathering of the largest Carol singer's on earth, that's a yearly attraction in uyo,
The Christmas village and many shows and events to spice up the season.

The one that gives resident of the state much joy is the restoration of the street lights in the city, these has brought verve to the economic condition in the state as business are able to extend their operational hours into the night there by enhancing income,
The city is much safer with lighting and the spirit of cheerfulness is palpable in Uyo,Nigeria.

With generator after Christmas they will go back to their normal darkness ,street light is what European cites has been using since 1900 till date,come to think of it that akwa ibom suppose to be the wealthiest state in Nigeria they amount of money they receive every month is enough for the state to look like Rwandan capital Kigali, but they are busy building more stadium in eket ,the level of poverty in akwa ibom is another thing forget uyo, come to ph are they way akwa ibom people are living I asked my self why?I never hear of any business controlled by akwa ibom people
