It won’t unless if the bore hole is not properly done.
More so make sure the pump panel is well kept

good day brothers and sisters, please I need professional talks on this funny thing.

getting to my house ( uncompleted) today for normal visit, I saw cracks at every windows right from top of four coarse to bottom where the foundation start and no crack notice on the foundation blocks at all. all eleven windows has crack alike and non of the cracks reach foundation blocks.
the house has not but been covered (roof) just block work.

what could be the culprit and how do I deal with it.

note: 1-the block was moulded manually. 35 per bag
2- no crack on the all other parts that has no windows. only the 4 by 4ft windows span are affected.

help!!!!!!

I am about wiring my house and the cost I got from the electricians brought so far is indeed alarming. the total number coil of wire given to me for a 5 bedroom is up to 17 coils and someone told me it shouldn't be more than 12 coils. The different wires are 2.5mm, 1.5mm and 10 mm. So experts in the house what is the rough estimate. The house is 60 feet by 30. Thanks

Hello experts in the house, good morning to you all.
So I am building a 4 unit of 2 bedroom flats, 2 flats up and 2 flat down. The decking is completed and i am now planning to start the first floor block setting, I a bit to cut cost and not compromise quality, by engineer has requested not to do a complete lintel chaining on this first floor but I did a complete lintel chaining for the ground floor.
My question is, will not chaining all the lintel together on the first floor affect the structure or load bearing capability of the building?
Please your input will be much appreciated.

When I said we have been using this device for long not 2,5,10 yrs to detect leakage ... yes I mean what I said.

Don’t forget we do filled the container with water before carry out the test.

I will find time to explain the process or post the Vedio later here when time permits to do so.

Same process with smoke test. The leakage point will show.

Closure on this.
Ran new supply piping from the overhead tank, as it was suspected leakage was from the supply side, being that it was buried before filling, over 1 foot underground.

I don't think the quantity is much if AC and water heaters is to be installed

I need an urgent advice from professionals here. I assigned someone to mold blocks for my intended bungalow project but when I sent someone to the site today, he found out they were molding 5 inches blocks and they have already molded about 3000 blocks.

I want to know, can 5 inches block be use for building? can it even be used for fencing? what is the recommended size of block for building bungalow?
U can use 5 inches block, but preferably is 6 inches block for bungalows. If u are molding more than 3000, u can make d remaining ones 6 inches, which will be used for external walls & d 5 inches for internal. Try to use columns on the edges too if u can but not compulsory

Try post pictures but if the cracks are occuring by the windows as you said, it may be your lintel work. Your lintel might be too short that is if you've done the lintel.

Post the pictures for a better diagnosis.

Hello nairalanders, good morning.
Please something has been troubling my mind. I'm currently constructing a three bedroom bungalow with concrete fascia ( parapet). The seasoned engineer handling the project refused to include any pillars on the foundation, saying there is no need.

For the past 2 hours I have been going through different pages of several projects here on this section of nairaland and I cannot say I'm not scared my foundation is without any form of pillars. I don't know if it's because he used 9" blocks on all outside walls.

Please I don't want my house to collapse. Please kindly let me know if there is anything I can still do. Or if the pillars can at this point be included. I'm scared please.

I just filled the foundation with sand. That's the stage the project is at currently.

something is wrong already - even without columns (THIS MIGHT COLLAPSE)
See link for reason >> https://www.nairaland.com/5002180/what-did-he-wrong-why

at this stage, your structure looks just like his....... (NOTE: not having columns is not the issue yet, thats another)

Thanks for bringing this back here, the situation was terrible then, after the client contacted me and we reconstructed the foundation for the client.
Today the client is a happy man.

The pics of the foundation before we moved in then.

MY ADVISE:

1. Add columns at key points / junction (lol at junctions)

2. Do a beam all round at this stage (b4 german floor), to tie the structure together

3. Do a German floor even if the thickness is 100mm

Goodluck
