Please don't be discouraged. The cut off could drop or a province could nominate you. Put in the hard work now, so that when the opportunity comes, you'll be ready. Patience is one virtue that is very essential in this journey.
Thank you.

Its not like they are refusing..i cant reach tjem. Its an interior village with no network and very far from my present location.. I just felt since it was Nysc that posted me and my allawee was from NYSC, i could go to Nysc for the reference letter instead quote author=Natalie27 post=84782573]if the school is refusing to give you a reference letter, you can approach a staff of the school that most probably supervised you .. you can get a letter from him or her , notarise it , get their work ID as well and explain in your LOE .

PRELUDE

I have always been opportuned to achieve more than my peers . I finished my professional course  at the age of 22, made my first million at the age of 23, bought my Ist car then too. All these I accomplished primarily because of various investment, I never rily practiced my profession except internship and nysc. I keyed in to bitcoin very early and made it rily big. Then due to youthful exuberance and bad investments, I squandered majority of my money ( plus btc lost value).
In 2016, when I was still very buoyant, my brother told me about this Canada runs, I was like am young and to some extent rich, I could easily stay and do very well in Nigeria. ( if only I had known). Well fast fwd to 2018, I had lost over 90% of my money, I started considering relocating. I asked my brother for a link to check my eligibility around early 2018. I was found ineligible because I made I mistake of indicating my professional degree as bsc, hence I was discouraged . Later in the year my brother got his ppr, I decided to recheck my eligibility and discovered my mistake, corrected it  and realised I have been dulling myself. I made the decision to relocate shortly after my brother  did.

ECA
The Ist hurdle to cross for me was evaluation of my degree.  I finished from uniben and nasu was on strike that period. I applied for transcript In November 2018 and it came out in January 2019. I thought of using wes for ECA, but my waec certificate had problem with date of birth, and my friend told me about ices and how I could do everything via email, so I didn't I have to pay courier fee to my school. I immediately embraced ices, paid for it in January  and my evaluation came out April ( evaluated as as a first professional degree)

IELTS

The next hurdle was ielts. I had not found Nairaland by then but I had heard how ppl wrote it several times. I mean my brother is very intelligent, he did most of his schooling in the UK but he still wrote it 3 times. I was determined to write it once. I decided to register for it on may 2nd so I could take it serious. I chose may 23rd as my test date so I can have enough time to study as I haven't done so all this while. I used ieltsbuddy.com, Ieltsonlinetests.com ( which I used the most and recommend for listening and reading) and also glanced at ielts liz and Jay on you tube ( used his ppf style for my speaking). I paid more attention to listening, then reading. I paid the least attention to speaking. My speaking test date came surprisingly ,as I was only notified 2 days before the day which was about a week before my written test date. I quickly prepared for it and started practicing accents cos I wasn't too confident of mine. On the day of the speaking test, I went to the venue very nervous cos I haven't prepared rily well for it. When it got to my turn, the examiner came out to ask me to pronounce my surname which was very long. I was shocked to hear him ask me in a very local accent, one I even felt mine was far better than. All of a sudden I gained lots of confidence and I relaxed and decided I would use my normal accent. Immediately the test began, to my greatest amazement, he completely switched his accent to a British one. This ca‎ught me off balance, and I was struggling between using my normal accent and  the one I practiced for. I know I must have sounded very incoherent at first especially in part 1, but I soon got a hold of myself and finished the rest parts fairly OK. Then came the written test, I was very confident of the listening and reading since I practiced a lot. The writing was OK, I think I did well, was expecting very good marks there too. On June 5th, the results were out
L. 8.5, R. 8.0, W 7.0, S 7.0.   Though I thought I should have had 9 in both listening and reading and at least a 7.5 in writing, I didn't contest the result cos I was happy I made it and I had a high enough crs score to jump in to the pool.

ITA
I collected my ielts trf form on June 9th, and created an express entry profile on June 10th with a crs of 491. I  got this cos I indicated my brother is Canadian pr and also cos of my age and professional degree.   I received Ita on June 12th with a cut off of 465.

POST ITA

Ita came so fast that I wasn't expecting it. So I had to gather the necessary documents. It was around this period I discovered this forum on nairaland. ‎

Work experience ‎

This was my first major problem. As mentioned earlier, I didn't rily practice my profession. I only had my internship which I did for about 19 months and my nysc. This wasn't up to 3 years but I had already filled in 3 years work experience in my express entry profile. I was confused on how to resolve this, till I saw a post on the validity of work experience while studying. I quickly remembered I did my externship (sort of i.t) for 6 months while in my final year. As things will turn out, I did all these in the same place. I quickly called my former boss, explained everything to her and asked if she could give a reference letter stating all the period I worked with her. She agreed and scanned it to me. So that was one down. I didn't  mention my nysc, cos i didn't want to complicate the application.

Proof of funds

Next major concern was my proof of funds. My bank account was practically close to zero from the beginning of the Year as I had most of my money in bitcoin. I knew bitcoin won't be accepted as a proof of funds but I didn't want to sell immediately cos I knew the value was going to increase soon. But then again, I was bothered about how to explain my source of funds. I sought advice from this forum and ppl told me to immediately sell my btc and convert to naira, then do t bills or fixed deposit. I followed their advice and liquidated all my bitcoin , which I regretted because a week after then bitcoin doubled it's value, so painful,  I mean i had 60 days, there was no harm just being a little bit patient. Well, I did tbills for four months, added my online bank account statement as a buffer and that was all.

PCC

This was done easily in abuja at force HQ for 10k. It took two days to get it. I didn't add the fingerprint page in my submission, I mean they only asked for the certificate. ( if u are asked for ur school certificate, do u add u add ur transcript? )

MEDICALS

I did this at IOM abuja. Called to get an appointment and was given one a week later. I went there quite early, around 8 am, but was number 30 on the queue. Finished at around 1 pm. There was no issue, I was called 2 days later that I passed.

Education docs‎

Here, I just uploaded my university  certificate, ECA report and ielts trf form.

Proof of sibling status and relationship

I used our birth certificates which showed our Father's name, though in his own, our mother's maiden name was used unlike mine where she had changed name already. This didn't matter though, at least worst case scenario we have the same father. I used his pr card to prove his status and his online bank account statement to prove his residency.

Change of name document

I wasn't given an English name at birth, instead had my father's first name as my middle name ( though I was never called by that or used it in my early life documents) .In my teenage days, I had to adopt an English name as both my first name and last name were difficult to pronounce even for my own people. Though, I never did an official name change, I started adding the name to my documents from my university days. (This was also part of the reason I never considered using WES  as my English name wasn't in my waec result).   This wouldn't have been an issue in my application, but I needed to show my birth certificate which had a different middle name. After ita, I just went to court to do a one and same person affidavit, using a format I got from this forum. I later found out after uploading that there were some typo errors. I just left it as it is. I didn't want to raise a cse for it.

AOR
My documents were ready by July 7th, I uploaded them, gave my brother my login details and he helped me make the payments with his credit card. I paid for everything ‎once, received Aor immediately. ‎

MEP/ BIL
I got notification that my Medicals was passed on the Ist of August and also got biometric instruction letter same day. I did my biometrics the next day at vfs abuja. It took about an hour but it was updated as completed that same day.

POST AOR/ POST BIL/ THE WAIT/THE REAL TEST OF PATIENCE

With the way things were working fast for me and being a young single applicant with a professional degree, I was of the opinion my application won't take more than 3 months except they have issues with my POF or work experience ( those were my only two worries). I dreaded getting an adr for payslips or account statement. That would have been a real challenge. Also explaining how I got my money via cryptocurrency would have been a herculean task. So I kept on waiting and hoping I get PPR request soon. After the 3 months mark was crossed, I got a bit skeptical but didn't order gcms cos I started hearing it takes up to 3 months now. I just kept on hoping.

In October, my brother said he logged in to my account and saw a request to update proof of funds on my profile, though when I logged in immediately after,  I didn't see anything. But coincidentally that was the day my tbills matured. I sought advice from the forum, though I was told not to worry, I decided to play safe and renewed my tbills for another 2 months. Raised a cse to notify them and also used the opportunity to ask for my visa office. They replied a week later, acknowledging the receipt of my document and also letting me know my visa office is ottawa. I was glad it wasn't Accra.

I expected Ppr a week or two after the cse, but no show, so I went back to my anxious state, especially when I started seeing some July Aor get PPR on other forums.
I kept on checking my account everyday cos I didn't want to miss anything. Started seeing testimonies of July Aor here and I was hopeful. I eventually got a ghost update on 7/12 /2019 and knew something is coming. That was a Saturday, I was expecting Ppr or any update the next day but got nothing, I was so anxious I couldn't sleep. Waited till Monday afternoon  and found a way to call ircc ( check my posts to get info on that). I got through within minutes and was told my application had been approved on Friday. I immediately called my awon goons mi, went to do our own small celebration in anticipation of the mail. The Ppr mail arrived the next morning at 1:17 am. The celebration continues.

From a not so silent reader!

Timeline
AOR - July 5
MEP/BIL - July 31
Long silence
RPRF request - Nov 23
GU - Dec 7
PPR - Dec 11 dated Dec 10

Oya take gist!

It all started in March 2018. Hubby and I just got married and we were thinking "what next?". I have a sibling in Canada and my mom is the Queen of Canada visit and they both felt moving to Canada was the only way to go. So the verbal planning began. We prayed, sought Divine direction for several months until we finally decided to give it a push in 2019.
Anyways, I took my first IELTS on the 9th of February, result came and it was heartbreaking - LSRW 8.5,7.5,8.5,6.5. We applied for remark for Speaking and writing sharply even though money was doing us "the more u look the less u see". We also registered for another test, not wanting to put all our agbalumo in one basket. Took the test on the 23rd of March and a week before the results were released, I got a mail that the EOR for the first test was ready. So we opted to pick both results the same day. So IELTS went like this:
EOR: LSRW 8.5,8,8.5,7
New test: LSRW 8.5,7.5,8.5,7
Both tests were with BC
Me I was angry we wasted money on the new test. Was even wishing I could gift someone my result but God dey.

WES
In January we started our ECA with WES and we initially thought it would be a breeze... hmmm. We calculated our CRS score over and over again and it stood at 469. Then my village people working with WES came o. On the 29th of April, Hubby's status was updated that he was to pay a balance of $28...how? Since January Hmmmmm, the way the man called them on phone ehnnnn, me I was just begging on their behalf (the trick is to speak with their supervisor, worked like magic). Anyways, they agreed it was their mistake and promised to sort it out in two working days.
The WES was beginning to look one kain, so one day, I decided to recalculate our score without hubby's ECA and we stood at 459. Omo! we boned his WES o, I'm sure their mind was paining them that we were not bothered again. We had already planned to be in the pool before the May 15 draw, but WES was not out, so I was really sad! As God would have it, there was no FSW draw that day (make nobody stone me shoe o!) and I knew God had a plan. Two days later, WES sent my report and an hour later, my profile was sitting pretty in the pool (talk about speed). May 29th came and cut-off was 470 (chisos!). My chest was doing me somehow Luckily, hubby and I already planned a vacation from 31st, so I set my mind on that instead. On the 31st of May, WES updated Hubby's profile and we were to get his ECA on the 20th of June which would take our score to 469. His report finally came on the 24th of June and we immediately updated our profile. So, we looked forward to the June 26th draw. ITA landed on the 26th of June with draw score at 462.

Medicals
We booked our medicals with Q-life family clinic even before we entered the pool. We were already in Lagos for our vacation so we booked a hotel close to the clinic and appeared at their gate the night before and wrote our names first...hehe. The next morning, we strolled there at 7:30am. At 8am, the process started and we were out before 10:30am. Those pple are organized sha...

Police Report
Inspector Moshood to the rescue!!! We got to Alagbon after a one hour drive (Lagos is a country on its own). I was already anticipating a lot of bureaucracy but the process was really seamless and Inspector Moshood was really nice and courteous. We were out in less than an hour. PCC cost us 8k.

POF
POF was something else. All funds were in Treasury bills supported with a combination of Sales agreement for one of our cars, sales receipt from hubby's business, bank statements, reference letter, payslips, letter of non-indebtedness and a breakdown of the source of funds. Plenty documents...I know.

AOR
After triple checking our application, we finally submitted and paid at 4am on the 5th of July. Got AOR in less than 3mins. Na so tension start o...lol. infact hubby came up with "We forgot to add your payslip" that night...haaaa, something I remembered that we scanned and uploaded. I told him to calm down o, lemme not be sweating inside river.

MEP/BIL
31st July. Was sleeping jejely when hubby woke me up at 9:21am and I groggily got up to look at what he was showing me. He was just shouting "medicals passed", "so you don't have syphillis"...lols, we play too much btw. Anyways it took me like 2mins to 'wake up' and register. Then I joined the excitement and we began searching for flights and excuse to give at the office. We finally settled for Aug 7th flight, decided to do it at Abuja before Lagos vfs office will use my PPR to shine. Flight to Abuja was smooth, the Biometrics process was seamless, we were in and out in 30mins. Profile was updated in less than an hour. Meanwhile, just on the side, Abuja pple biko, why does your village look like a big empty ranch. Everywhere is empty with plenty plenty wide roads. Anyways flight back to Port Harcourt was scary, I have never sang as many Christian songs as I did that day o..chai. finally got home at past 10pm and we were dead tired.

The wait
After Biometrics, we discovered we were pregnant with our first baby, so we were a bit distracted but then again we needed PPR to come fast cos dis pikin gats land for Canada o. The wait was something else, hubby could not restock his farm, we could not buy major items at home cos we didn't want the hassle of having to sell later...issues. Fast forward to the morning of November 23rd, my ever vigilant husband discovered an ADR for RPRF waiting for us. See Baba calling me when I was doing my "early morning business", I taught it was a joke o. Checked my mail, saw ADR and was drinking spiritual fanta as if it was PPR. We wanted to wait and pay the following Monday o, but excitement did not allow us. We were able to get a friend to pay for us using his Sterling Bank card because of exchange rate wahala. We paid at N267/1CAD that day. After that day, I became so vigilant. I would wake up at 4am to check my mail and profile...chai. 7th December, we received a Ghost update. ADR changed to 'Not applicable' and we were excited as usual.

PPR
On Tuesday morning, we were expecting the mail. I woke up like 4 times to check my mail and I was disappointed not knowing that God was just laughing at impatient me. That morning I was not even encouraged to go to work. I needed that mail to breathe. This morning at about 1:30am, I woke up to use the restroom, one mind said check ur mail, but I didn't want to be disappointed, so I went back to sleep. Minutes later, hubby woke me and I saw the smile on his face. He showed me my screen and there it was! The great Golden Mail! apparently sitting in my inbox even when I woke up. God gave me an early Christmas gift and I am extremely grateful.

Moral lesson
Biko, there is no moral lesson o. Just be patient if not na high BP get u. Also, this is a total DIY process. Just research and ask questions.

Thank you all for your support. We got a lot of answers from Nairaland

My people what's happening?
WES says my report will be ready by 10th (Yesterday), here we are, and it's not ready yet.
And this is the same WES that releases report two/three days prior to the estimated date.
And I called them twice yesterday saying I should wait for the end of the day. The day ended oo
Oga oo. I'm tired.

Please how do I get their customer service line. Thank you
ChiefVal:

I think you should call IQAS. If nobody has responded here it probably means nobody has had this experience.
Call them, in my experience, their customer service is very responsive.
