They can't arrest everyone, the people have the power, you politicians are there to work for us,get that in your heads...nice one from punch, we all must register our protests in several ways against this authoritarian style of governance. It's shameful how people get power drunk in these modern times.

What is the essence of governance?

If I drop my contact here, I will be arrested latest SATURDAY.

If you don't believe this, then you're blind to happenings in Nigeria

Femi Adeshina, you are such a disgrace. This is the weak rebuttal you can come up with. Apart from the name reference, what of the other points raised in Punch's article, most especially the issue of human right abuse? Why did you not address that?
Buhari attained the rank of Major General by quota system. He did not earn it. I'l rather refer to him as a sergeant, yes Sergeant Muhammadu Buhari.

SERGEANT MUHAMMADU BUHARI
in reality he is a sergeant and nothing more. Army officers are known to be cool and level headed. Go check the crop of military generals that we have and see how well behaved they are.

In as much as vigilance and ventilation are needed to keep our democracy alive, the simple truth is that the real situation is very far from the picture Punch Newspaper is painting. There is freedom of speech in Nigeria and on daily basis tens of anti-government and extremely anti-Buhari articles get published in both print and online media. If there wasn't, staunch critics like Femi Fani Kayode with all his misleading, mischievous and insulting posts would have been in jail.

Unfortunately, DSS personnel got carried away in their bid to tame the defiant Yele Sowore that they tactlessly played into his original intention of making himself a hero of democracy by that act of gangsterism in court premises. Now, the enemies of government including displaced and embittered PDP moneybags have subtly moved into action to discredit Buhari's administration in both local and international media. To counter this dangerous development, I think government should reach out to critical civil society stakeholders to restate its commitments to democratic principles.

However, one thing is certain, because Buhari's presidency is very NECESSARY for the INEVITABLE disruptions of the existing political and economic orders that will make way for new orders, it will survive this onslaught like the ones that came in the past.

Femi Adesina has chosen to forget that one day he is going to leave the employment of his master, Major General Buhari, and that the public (who never forget) is going to hold him accountable for all his mischievous speeches against the will of the people.

Let him ask Reuben Abati why the people no longer trust in the great wisdom he exhibited when he was the editorial guru at The Guardian NP the moment he left the government of Jonathan, because of the thrash he was spewing to defend the excesses of the government.

When you are in position beware of your utterances.
Re: Femi Adesina Reacts As Punch Calls Buhari 'Major General' by freeze001(f): 11:45am On Dec 11, 2019
The action of the DSS clearly discredits General Buhari's government already. Even you admit that DSS personnel lost their heads and got carried away yet rather than hold the government accountable by bringing sanity into the system and punishing the DSS idiots as well as their commanders/superiors including even the DG, here you are going political and calling regular citizens and members of the press enemies of the government. Who is the enemy really? The one that brought ridicule through its failure to respect the rule of law or those demanding accountability and that they comply with laid-down principles of law? When you cannot speak the truth to power, you are in fact the worst ENEMY ever.

"Press freedom" that's why your regime is witch hunting Sahara Reporters and trying to stifle freedom of speech by locking down social media.

Clown.
Sowore does not represent sahara reporter !!! He was ex presidential aspirant under AA political party in Nigeria when he lost he declared Revolution now Nigeria which is more equivalent to what Abiola did that made him to die in prison.we told him to trend with caution but he failed to listen .Sowore is no more an activist or any ordinary person in Nigeria .Tell us if it was Atiku that declared Revolution now after lost election to Buhari ?? Mind you the same hand they will use to treat Atiku is the same to treat Sowore which he is under going now.I didn't know that Sowore doesn't get sense before I wasted my vote for him in 2019 election.

I am so happy that Buhari is the president untowards 2023, we will surely have a paradigm shift comes 2023 in our political arena when he leaves office.

2023 will prove to the world if truly Nigerians are not the REAL problem of Nigeria or just a few political elites.

No matter how learned and well read you are or might claim to be, sycophancy, however noble, will end up reducing you to the level of idiocy and tomfoolery.

Just look at what a supposed learned youth and graduate put up there... It's as sad as it is amusing. I choose to laugh!!! grin
Laugh at your own idiocy.

I am sure you do not even know what semantics mean and that the word REGIME meant same thing as government or authoritarian government.

Stupid people like you who never wished to get some education actually thought PUNCH made a mockery of Buhari when all they did was simply call him essentially same thing any civilian president is today despite their attempt at tagging him a Major General as if he was never that before or as if it matters when he is now the Commander in chief of the Nigerian armed forces (which incidentally is a MILITARY establishment) or are our armed forces CIVILIAN?

Major General ---Military

Commander in chief of the Nigerian armed forces --- A military position given to a civilian or military leader of a Nation OVER ITS MILITARY

Punch has done well for standing up in this trying time. Its not easy to do what Punch just did inspite of the fact that the junta will likely launch an onslaugt on the media house. History will be kind to Punch because they are writing it well. Femi's reply is weak at the very best. Couldn't address the salient points Punch gave.
