The only state in Nigeria witnessing real modernisation and innovation is Lagos State.

Every other state in Nigeria is a shithole and a waste of resources.

Seyi Makinde tapoline Okada initiative made me lose hope in his capacity to innovate and modernise Oyo State.

But too costly and depressing to survive in unless you have a flexible job. You're better much living a simple life outside Lagos

The only state generating trillions on a near yearly basis in revenue...

You think Lagos is really modern??!... If a quarter of her income is fully utilized, that state will exceed Dubai... Same issue facing the states you are correctly slating.

What am I getting at??!... The entire country is a fvcking shithole, including Lagos!!! Nothing personal.

Nothing but the truth

Wow

#Nigeria. Uber boats for commuters in Lagos started running today. The ride hailing service is being piloted for 2 weeks. About 4K people travel by boat into the city daily (source:Waterways Passengers Assoc) to avoid getting stuck in its notoriously slow rush - hour traffic.

STATES LIKE DELTA STATE, BAYELSA STATE, RIVERS STATE, AKWA IBOM ETC SHOULD STUDY THIS PROJECT CAREFULLY AND SEE THE POSSIBILITY OF INTRODUCING IT IN THEIR RIVERINE COMMUNITY.

It is common to see Rickety canoes attached with yamaha engine being used to convey riverine commuters in states like Bayelsa states, and Delta states. These states are oil rich. What did they do with their money?

What is governor Seriake Dickson ( aka DICKHEAD ) doing with the allocation for 8 years?

What is Okowa, Wike, Emmanuel Odom, all doing with their states allocation after constructing roads projects in their respective states?

See the way they empty the treasury of the NDDC?

Is it right to go and blame the north for the treasury looting of the NDDC funds?

N 500 X 35 persons on a trip equals to N 17,500 for just a trip

A boat could run up to 20 trips on the average per day. Now use your tongue to count your teeth cheesy

That is N 350,000 per day per boat and N 10,500,000 per month

Assuming Uber-Boat has 20 boats in its fleet

That is FVVVVCKKKKING N 210,000,000 per month and N 2,520,000,000 ($6,972,497.37) per annum (gross revenue - excluding consumables, fuel, repairs, security, insurance and allowances)

its clear you are a novice for this boat matter. Those using it are working class. Only 2 trips a day. Go to jetty by 12 and check if u go see any boat to sandill or lekki

Are talking about 1 development that would be followed by 10 regression backwards.

Some of you Nigerians are a joke.

No, you slowpoke. You cannot read. You conveniently ignored what I wrote or were so angered by your own crappy life that you wanted to jump on one sentence.

Banking is easier. Have you seen a bank fail in the past 5 years?

Paying/renewing a passport is easier.

Paying for air travel is easier.

Telecommunication is easier. Do you remember NITEL?

Retail is now easier.

Hailing a cab is easier.

These are the things are that make day to day life easier. I did not say things are perfect but they are minor improvements that have made day to day life better than what they were.

Stevecovey:

Too much cars on the road is the number 1 cause of traffic all over the world.
All Major cities have laws they use to discourage people from driving their personal cars.

Too many cars on the road is one of the causes but it's not the exclusive cause.

In the case of Lagos, too many roads need to be fixed, and there need to be strict regulations put in place on compliance of motorists to traffic rules.

You will wonder why you haven't thought of this before. Lack of capital, obviously.

Nigeria is a cold mine for simple, but innovative and or this. concepts like this. The same concept will work in Asaba-Onitsha jetty by the grand hotel.

I noticed that a lot of persons here have been so carried away by the euphoria of this initiative and forgot to know that this mode of water transportation is also a luxury. They forgot to realize that it is not for everybody but for a targeted clientele. For instance the N500 fare been announced here is only an introductory promo fare for only four trips after which the fare will go up to N1,000 per trip. How many person can afford a N2, 000 daily return trip just to be beat traffic. The aim is not only to profer a solution to the traffic menance but they are rather capitalizing on their situation to make money. So let's not rejoice yet.
