As a trained Physicist, I will say a very big NO |

mrphysics: Mr efiko. What is the trash in there? You think say you sabi book abi. Come over We are talking about how dangerous nuclear energy could be in country like ours you are saying I know nothing about. Epele omowe |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by Supersymetry: 9:38pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
One problem with today's scientists is that they think deeply and not clearly- Nikola Tesla If Nigerians want to compete with the rest of the world in technology, why not develop carbon neutral technologies like carbon sinking or lead the field of nuclear fusion research, computer technology, biological nuclear magnetic resonance or other biological sample analysis and medical research etc Most countries that rely heavily on nuclear power are usually one's with limited access to cheap gas,oil and coal maybe have plans for nuclear weapons. A new term should be created for countries that borrowed technologies they're not fully in control of and can not manage( technological puppet), they should think, what if they have disagreement with the master country, what if they decides to leave (like nigerian iron and steel), what if there is cyber attack on the nuclear facility, do we have advanced computer technology to protect it. Instead of them to look into coal, gas, solar and wind, hydro and geothermal technology transfer first. |

damosade:Lol. Bros, I no get strength again. However, Nuclear Energy is the cleanest energy after solar. It possesses no danger to anyone except your mindset |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by Supersymetry: 9:55pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
Most people that don't like solar technology don't know about the resent development in the field like the introduction of solution processed perovskites, quantum dot and nanowire solar cells etc |

I can confidently say this is never Gonna happen If it would it shouldn't be in the raghead region. |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by mrphysics(m): 10:11pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
otomatic: I am very sure you enjoy constant blackout in Nigeria. You like to blame government and still don't want solutions. Just mention any country where Solar is their major source of power except Morocco? Some of you just come to nairaland to talk nonsense |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by mrphysics(m): 10:13pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
Supersymetry:Solar technology though the cleanest is not even an option for Nigeria except we don't want to ever experience constant power. People shouting nuclear disaster probably don't know what a power plant or nuclear energy is |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by mrphysics(m): 10:18pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
otomatic:Chai, we will remain the worst country in Nigeria with the kind of people with same mindset. For your information, the only thing that can cause an accident in a Nuclear power plant as built before and today is natural disaster. Aside natural disaster, nuclear power plant does not pose any risk to anyone. Waste management is something you should be talking about |

dukeprince50:There you go, the human error, how can we guarantee this in a country still battling with basic human problems. High precision is needed to keep the reactors at bay in order to prevent any form of nuclear accident. In case where such happens, do we have the neccessary plan on ground to minimize damage, don't forget it happened even in countries with the best nuclear scientists and human resources. This is more practical than you think bro, this is not about theory, our country is not ready for this. Green house effect is still learning where a nuclear accident occurs. |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by erico2k2(m): 10:46pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
Supersymetry:Thank U well said, in the Uk today Coal accounts for more than half of its power generation still! |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by erico2k2(m): 10:49pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
mrphysics:If you realy take time to research it you will see there are many avenues where we can have problem/ |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by dukeprince50: 10:57pm On Dec 12, 2019 |
EMDIEY:There is no guarantee that accident will occur, but other forms of power destroys the ecosystem and shorten the earth lifespan whether there is accident or not. The earth has some few million years left and green house gases reduces the age. But you can be 80-95% sure that nothing will happen using nuclear power, its just the 10% error that makes things go out of control. If we rely on wind, hydro, solar etc, we will never have enough power to boost the economy. If we boost the economy, we can have a way of tackling the disaster that nuclear power could cause, and its not likely that such disaster will happen in the next 50-100years, so why the fear |

Shouuu......it's good idea to go for nuclear power but let no forget the diverse advert effect if not properly managed. The radiation dt it would emit leads to cancer, genetic/germline mutations.....(mutated children) with unwanted physical xters and it could be passed on and on to generations Only if Nigeria can manage it properly....it would give us all the stable electricity need You wanna learn forex or become consistently profitable trading forex......hit me up on 081-040-48-682.........you can trade yourself and make %50 of your investment monthly with my skills |

Why is nobody saying anything about Solar energy?? isn't it better and suited for our region than nuclear energy which deals more with radiation?? Do we have that maintenance mentality? last last all na scam.... |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by Giftedtu: 9:30am On Dec 13, 2019 |
I don't understand much about this nuclea thing, but i hope it is not that one that they say is capable of wipping out an entire state, if it is that one, we don't need it in Akwa ibom. |
Re: Nigerian Senate Makes Case For Nuclear Energy by otomatic(m): 11:27am On Dec 13, 2019 |
mrphysics: Without talking nonsense, you do realise that those countries you are looking up to do not have an abundance of sunshine like Morocco does. Hence you find them investing in wind farms. Besides, we have other power sources so we are looking at an energy mix. |

Supersymetry: It seems like you extremely jealous of other countries. Why should Nigeria compete with them.. You may not be able to travel out of Nigeria in your life time... Double edge sword mouth |
