6 Reasons Why Nigerians Must Resist The New Visa On Arrival Policy For Africa by Blitzerz: 7:53am On Dec 13, 2019
President Buhari in a recent conference, has just announced that Nigeria would begin to issue visa on arrival to citizens of all African countries,

Here are
6 Reasons why Nigerians Must Oppose Buhari’s Visa on Arrival for All Africans.

1.Terrorism across Africa

It's no longer news that ISIS has invaded West Africa. This is even without considering the ongoing damage being done by Boko haram.
No reasonable country in the midst of fight against terror grants visa on arrival to absolute visa on arrival.

Nigeria is tackling boko haram, and surrounded by other deadly terror groups like Alshabab etc.
Visa on arrival coupled with our poorly investigative immigration policies will surely help other terror groups to bud and and add to the nation's woes

Recently, even Liberal countries of Europe are beginning to revise their visa policies due to the increasing number of terror groups globally

2.Food Shortage and Worsening IDP Crisis

This has majorly been An offspring of the terror problem and attack and displacement of local populations across the country by herdsmen militia. The problem seems not to be over anytime soon.
Nigeria currently, is not even able to cultivate enough food for her population

Across the country, People are crowded in poor conditions making a semblance of Concentration camps of old.

3. Refugees Crises
Enabling a massive Visa on arrival policy can attract IDPs from neighbouring countries and worsen our already dreadful food and housing crisis.

Many African countries may even take advantage of the policy and export their refugees to Nigeria, knowing they would be given visas on arrival.

A population of nearly 200 million can't afford to add to its food and housing crisis.

4.Ebola and Other Epidemics

There are African countries still battling epidemics such as Ebola (still active in the Congos and Central Africa).
Nigeria is yet to even achieve full health and immunization awareness for its population.

Welcoming everyone from every corner of Africa at this time is a poorly-thought idea.
We already escaped Ebola and Monkey pox etc in the past, albeit it took some lives. We may not be fortunate to escape again when we start giving visas on arrival to all neighbours.
Nigeria must be careful.

5. Political use of Immigrant Votes to alter demographics
The recent developments in our electoral system has lead to increasing depseration among Nigerian politicians.

Considering the nature of our charged political space, nothing will stop the typical Nigerian political machinery from going to nearby African countries to recruit voters for elections.
Giving visa on arrival to all Africans will make it easier for our desperate politicians to perpetuate this evil.

6. Unsustainability
Once again, no reasonable country in the world grants visa on arrival to her entire continental neighbors.
It is not sustainable. It eventually could generate life time crises for the already failing economy of the nation.

cool

pessimistic Nigerians are out again

visa on arrival doesnt mean no visa or free entry, it means like dubai, the Imigration officer at the point of entry can clear you in or send you back based on some criterias

the easier our visas, the faster our tourism industries would develop

IT'S FULANI ARABS TAKE OVER AFRICA PLAN. ALL OUR NORTHERN NIGERIAN POLITICIANS INCLUDING BE ATIKU ARE ALREADY PROJECTING AND ASSUMING 400 MILLION TO BE NIGERIA'S POPULATION BY JANUARY 2020.

ARE YOU SEEING WHAT I AM SEEING?

When terrorists take advantage of the visa, do you have the capacity to detect and stop them?

Good points there, unfortunately they hardly go through the right borders that'll give a VO the opportunity to stamp them in or deny them entry. Our borders are just unnecessarily porous
