General Ibrahim Babangida's title from August 1985-August 1993 was president. I don't know how many times I have to tell you children that!

There have been many military presidents around the world, but in Nigeria we have a custom of not addressing military heads of state with the title "president". However, General Babangida changed that. His title from 1985-1993 was president.

Similarly, Admiral Aikhomu's title from 1991-1993 was vice president. He had been the chief of general staff (de facto vice president) from 1986-1991 when General Babangida retired him from the navy and converted him into a civilian vice president.
