Donald Trump has committed serious crimes against the US State that when he goes to trial for it, he will rot in Jail.
American Legislators were initially caught in a cross roads as to whether to investigate and push for impeachment OR overlook allegations and save the sanctity of American Presidency .
But evidences emanating against Trumps are too enormous to be overlooked. And Trump is not even helping matters with his untouchable ego .
He has fired almost 70% of his key staff.
And these are people who knows him completely and did dirty jobs for him.
You can't keep firing your inner cabinet and think you won't be hurt.
He would be shocked the people that will testify against him.

Agreed, the Democrats have to defend more seat in Red districts that Trump won, but if you combined that with the districts that GOP have to now give up because of the gerrymandering, I think the Democrats will still keep the House in 2020.

The Senate are highly favored to keep the Senate in 2020, only about 4 GOP Senators are in competitive races.

For the Presidency, Trump is still favored to win, that is because of the power of the incumbency and the fact that the economy is doing well. The US economy is cyclical, which means years of uptrend are immediately followed by years of downtrend...The current uptrend started with the Obama bailouts, but no one knows when they will end. So, Predicting the POTU election outcome now will be challenging, but the Democrats will help their chances, if Biden or Pete is nominated, Warren will be a drag on their hopes.

I think both parties are jittery, Trump truly wanted to get dirty on Biden from a foreign government; agreed he did not get it, until he was caught, but if he thinks the elections are in the bags, he wouldn't be doing that.

Even if the impeachment goes through, the trial in the Senate will fail considering it is a Republican dominated Senate, except there is a coup against Trump within the Republican party and I strongly doubt that.

No president has ever instructed their cabinet members not to provide evidences that will set the president free during an impeachment inquiry, no president has ever refused to participate in an impeachment inquiry about itself and besides, impeachment is a political process and not a judicial one so asking the Democrats to go to court to compel Donald Trump and his cohorts to present facts that exonerates them? The president did not challenged any subpoena in court, that's very misleading of you rather the president through his attorney wrote to congress that they won't participate and that non of those subpoenaed should honor it hoping that the Democrats will go to court to enforce the subpoena which Donald Trump wanted to use as a delay tactic but the Democrats outsmarted him by not challenging his decisions in court but proceeded with other members of Trump's cabinet members that defied trump's order for them not to honor the subpoena and came forward and gave account of what they knew.
