Why can't those governors be busy developing their own states same way Dangote is developing some part of the country?

With what are they going to use to develop their States when all the monies go to Abuja. Lagos for instance doesn't get up to 5% of what it generates from the federal government. Only true federalism will bring development to the states.

Besides, the Constitution makes it difficult for States to carry out certain projects like oil refineries and power generation. Nigeria is designed to fall. Until we practice true federalism and overhaul our Constitution, we will be going round in circles and in fact backward.

It would have been running after 2012 when Jonathan proposed deregulation of the petroleum downstream sector but Asiwere of agberos and owner of bullion vans misled even educated cashivists to derail the plan.
Just as with telecoms, we would have been enjoying cheaper and available fuel now after the initial hike.

lol. Crude oil is not the only commodity that is refined in a refinery.

no price will crash. you should know electric cars will be more expensive to use and maintain. and you will still need oil to provide cheap electricity. no price is crashing. even the big countries are still investing in oil

Electric cars are cheaper to maintain

don't Respond To Emotional Punches With Physical Punches

PROLOGUE.
The greatest gift men have in this world is masculinity or physical power. Through physical strength men bend circumstances and people to their will, but Women, lacking the strength to match, have focused all their energies on mastering the Emotions and accomplish what men accomplish through emotional power.

LIONS RULE THE LAND; SHARKS RULE THE SEA
picture masculine power as Land and feminine emotions as Sea. men are the Lions ruling the Land and women the Sharks ruling the Sea. while the Lion is undefeated on Land, he would be torn to shreds in the Sea. And while the shark is undefeated in the Sea, she would be torn to shreds on the Land. The lion and the shark can each dominate only by sticking to their native surroundings where they have home advantage.

HOW MARRIAGE BRINGS STRENGTH AND EMOTIONS
TOGETHER.
Because a man is physically stronger than a woman God commands the man to meet his woman in her home ground of Emotions through love (where she has the advantage). and because a woman is emotionally stronger than a man God commands the woman to meet her man in his home ground of Strength through submission (where he has the advantage) :

(Ephesians 5:22-33 New International Version (NIV) Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord...Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her)

Love makes a man emotionally vulnerable and submission makes a woman physically vulnerable. When a man loves a woman he puts himself at risk of emotional abuse and when a woman submits to a man she puts herself at risk of physical abuse. Both man and woman must voluntarily place themselves under the power of the other. Its a game of TRUST.

PHYSICAL SLAPS ARE EMOTIONAL PUNCHES.
Because a man is emotionally vulnerable in love and a woman physically vulnerable in submission; when a woman provokes her man or slaps him, she is inflicting the same level of damage to his EGO and emotions that her man's fist inflicts on her face when he punches her. its not that the Male Ego is fragile, but the woman's physical slap registers as an Emotional Punch whose damage cant be seen and happens on the inside.

only a woman can say the words that can break a man and make him cry or suicidal. Only a woman can build up or tear down a man. Not his boss. not his worst enemy. Not the devil. But the woman he loves. because he is exposed to her emotionally. she has his heart in her hands. and the damage her words can cause only God can see. Not the police. Not the courts. The police and the courts only see the damage of the Physical Punch on a woman's face. But they cant see the damage of the Emotional Punch on the man's ego that started everything.

Consequently all men are at a weaker position in all cases of Domestic Violence and Spousal Abuse, since there is no human instrument that measures provocation and emotional damage. The two things that a woman's slap causes.

when women say "No man must hit a woman no matter how much she provokes him" they dont understand that a Woman's Slap is an Emotional Punch. And like all punches it delivers damage. it doeasnt matter if that damage is seen or not. It's there.

Emotional Punches delivered via provocation or slaps are as much a betrayal of trust in a relationship as physical punches delivered via the fist are. and just as it takes a man of restraint and self-control to not hit his woman, it also takes a woman of restraint and self-control to not Provoke her man.

FIGHT EMOTIONS WITH EMOTIONS
and so the best way to respond to a woman slapping you is not to slap her back. Physical Strength is your domain and everyone will take the woman's side ("but you can't hit a woman" ) instead you walk out . spend the
night in a hotel. reject her food for a whole week. The point is to provoke her emotionally. Our society has been so pussified that not even self-defense can be a man's excuse for hitting a woman. so your best bet is to make the issue emotional by fighting emotionally not physically. Thats the best way you can do it. Emotions leave no scars anyone can see. Never lay a hand on her.

Use provocation against provocation.

Use what your provoker also uses; emotions. and she'll soon learn you are a Lion that never enters her Shark-infested Sea of Emotions by being emotional. Rather, you stay on dry land. untouched by her emotions and provocations. you dish out your own emotional
provocations YOU DON'T DISH OUT PUNCHES because YOU ARE EMOTIONALLY PROVOKED. there is a difference.

Now here is a guide on responses to emotional provocations:
- She slaps you, consider it an emotional punch and "emotional-punch" her back: refuse her food, spend nights in a hotel etc.
-She throws her drink at you; throw your drink at her. don't get emotional and hither. stay on dry Land
and provoke her back.
-she spits on your face; spit on her face too. don't get emotional and hit her. stay on dry Land
- she cusses.cuss back.don't get emotional and hit her.stay on dry land.
- she insults your mama, insult her mama back. Don't get emotional and hit her. Provoke her back.
- she cuts up your sneakers, cut up her sneakers as well. Don't get emotional and hit her. Stay on dry land.
-she throws your phone to the floor; throw her phone to the floor as well.don't get emotional and hit her.stay on dry Land. don't jump into the Sea. in other words DON'T BECOME EMOTIONAL.

I can go on forever...but you get the formula.

in all confrontations MIMIC WHAT SHE DOES because she does it all to provoke you emotionally NOT TO HURT YOU PHYSICALLY (if she wanted to hurt you physically she would have poisoned you or stabbed you). Now, by imitating her actions you stay on Land and refuse to jump into the Sea of emotions. even herself she didn't jump
on Land and become physical by punching you or stabbing you. she knows Physical Provocation of you is like a Shark going on Land to face a Lion. she doesn't stand a chance. So she provokes you emotionally. the Shark stays in the Sea and provokes from there, hoping the Lion will jump in and be torn to shreds. don't fall for that trap.

And the trap is this: A woman provokes you emotionally so you become EMOTIONAL and react PHYSICALLY, and do something stupid that you will regret. something she will forever hold over you as blackmail. to weaken you.

She will provoke you and you'll hit her then she'll take a pic of her battered face or will show a friend but immediately not do anything about it. Then one day (even 10 years later) when things go sour or she wanna arm-twist you on an issue she will bring out the incident as a trump card and prevail over you.

while men keep records of friendly conversations as proof in case they are accused of rape or abuse, women keep records of nasty incidents as proof in case they need to blackmail you. or fix you.

Be smart. Stay in control.

But Lagos is too congested for this kind of project, had it been it was sited in a place like Ondo it would have been better. Laying pipes from Akwa ibom, delta, Rivers or Bayelsa to Lagos is far oh, but anyway, Dangote knows his reasons.

Besides, other Refineries should also be sited in these other states, while the ones we have should be 100 percent functional. Since this refinery won't serve all the country needs.

Naturally this refinery should be in Number Delta due to proximity but their stupidity of the people of the region would be amazing to allow such

The monies given to the states are grossly inadequate except for a few states that have good amount generated internally. Like I mentioned, what Lagos gets from FG is less than 5% of what it generates. Imagine if Lagos was allowed to control it's resources, it will compete with Dubai and other world class cities.

There is excess money in Nigeria but all goes to the center and that is why looting is in billions of Nigeria and dollars. Imagine that billions of dollars missing under Diezani Allison Madueke. These monies are revenue from oil producing States. We must overhaul the Constitution and shift power for resource control back to the states. The federal government is a thief. And they are enjoying the stealing. Imagine the amount approved for the renovation of national assembly. Those in power know what to do but they love the system because of the benefits they enjoy at the expense of Nigerians.

Bro ... In life nothing is permanent.. if steam, coal can phase out , trust me oil would, the global energy companies are busy in labs inventing better energy

Many countries are going for electric cars,... It's cheaper to maintain and better

Trust me , in 10 years, oil would be phasing ...
if you had said in 80 years I would have believed but in ten no think am, one the reasons why coal phased out is because countries that are stakeholders are not much and there is no country that uses coal as it only or main source of revenue and energy plus unlike fuel it is not portable do you think some countries would let it phase out without a fight plus this solar, electric etc they have their short comings, definitely the price would drop and rise but the market would still strive

The way forward for our government owned refinereis is simple

1.Sell them
2.Privatise NNPC...so that it isn't dependent on free cash from the government. Because free cash is what is fuelling the corruption in and around NNPC refinereis maintenance and repair...
3.Remove fuel subsidy, which would force NNPC to be a profit earning organisaiton, which in turn would make it run its refinereis much better, and would provide enough money for upgrades, and so on.

It is the refusal of Nigerians to remove fuel subsidy, and the enterneched intersts in the corruption game in NNPC that is crippling our refineries.

And costing Nigeria billions we don't have

Oil will be around for a long time yet.

Consumer gadgets and cars may go electric, but the heavy industries that build them and other stuff will still rely on fossil fuel to power them.

And more factories will spring up to make more batteries for those electrically powered stuff

don't mind Nigerians. They always blame the constitution which is not the human beings who make decisions. The truth is that no matter the system of government we adopt we will always find it difficult to develop because, as Claude Ake once said, development has not always been on the agenda of Africa leaders. Development is not something you play with as we always do in this part of the world. Even the famed Karl Marx once said that industrial development was a matter of life and death.Countries who are serious and know what they are doing will continue to make money off unserious ones such as those in Africa. China is making a lot of money from dangote refinery more than what Nigeria is making. For instance, more than 80 per cent of the steel used in the construction of the refinery comes from China,in addition to hundreds of Chinese engineers doing the construction. You see when you don't invest in your people they become economic liability that millions of Nigerians have become. African leaders are poorly educated to understand the geo-politics of the world. This is the reason they have adopted the neo-liberal economic policies of the West, which in its entirety call for aggressive privatization of state assets and non interference in the economy by the state. In other words they are saying African leaders should not site industries and leave everything to private individuals. Now tell me how a country with such large number of unemployed and poverty stricken people going to survive if government does not play a role in the economy? I understand that Nigerian government is grossly inefficient in management, but leaving the establishment of industries to private individuals only will not help grow the nation. This is exactly what China rejected which has seen China develop so quickly. Some of the biggest corporations in china today are government owned. Corporations such Sinotrucks, XCMG,JAC motors, JMC motors, Hiense,FAW motors, foton motors, ZOOMLION construction equipment company and many others are state owned. The companies, in addition to creating millions of useful jobs and revenues for both the people and the government, have laid the foundation for technological development of both the country and the private sector, as many people who have previously worked in those state owned companies have gone on to establish their own companies. Example of such company is SANY heavy equipment construction company, which happens to be the six largest maker of construction equipment in the world. With the government being serious in its understanding it has a much bigger role to play in the industrial modernization of the country, Nigeria will continue to be underdeveloped with harrowing poverty for the majority. No private individuals in Nigeria have the capital and technology to do much. The government has to lay down the foundation for industrial development.
