Before 2002 One could claim Housing benefits in Numerous properties and get away with it. Not thesedays of Universal credits.

She could have still claimed some sort of benefits if she had lived in her own house.


This case would also Affect her Immigration status as it says on here that she is on a No public funds Status, meaning she doesn't hold an ILR residency Permit or a british citizenship.

I hope you all know that the newspaper exaggerated this right. It's not uncommon in the UK to see people living in council accomodation when they are able to live in their own purchased accommodation. Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Indians are experts in it.

It's not as bad as it sounds. People claim benefits all the way from EU countries and don't even live in the UK. She's not "homeless", she just lives in a council flat, infact that's how you get them to give you, unless you'll stay on the list till end time. A lot, a lot of people do this.

People apply for a council house to pay peanuts and they can actually afford living in their own purchased accommodation.
