If u sit for all Ur exams in school and u passed convincingly, u have no reason to worry. U will pass the tests during the training school and u may even be the best among Ur peers sef.

Never go for one man company job when u have other options.

Take the govt and give it your best shot biko. If it doesn't work out, you could simply return back to job portals for the several one man businesses available.

Now your fear is you might fail the test at the end of the day. Common! You can do it. Don't leave a government job for private company job, don't!

One man business get level o. Dangote na one man business but it has class.

Will you be paid monthly during the 12 months training?

Compare that monthly payment with that of the private, if private pays lower then consider the government.

But if government doesn't pay compared with the fact that its uncertain. Then take that private that at least guarantees you payment for now while you search for better opportunities.

One thing I can glean from your write up is that you didn't get the Govt Job on merit. If not, reading for tests (not texts) and exams wouldn't be a problem since you probably would've done that to get the job (which I doubt you did).

When people don't get govt jobs on merit in Naija, they come to Nairaland to ask such inane questions.

Imagine his fear; test and exams. Real definition of Lazy Nigerian Youth. Don't read oooo. Look for the easy way out and take the private job. Then come tomorrow, post on Nairaland that your boss in the private coy is treated you unjustly and sacked you without pay.
