Its wat i ve being doing, i do most of d house choirs mysef n d pains r almost gone.... I ve started going out sef.... Went 2 maryland yesterday frm ikorodu... I only feel some stingy sensation down der reminding me dt i ve tears...n DS giving me workout most of d day with his troublesome behaviour, i almst feel non of d pains.... N 4 d sex, i dont tink i am gonna b having any anytime soon.... Pregnancy wahala n labour hv destroyed my mental health abt sex.... I gt irritated easily now pertaining anything abt sex... Libido is currently 0% since my preggy days.... Just dey pity hubby cs i aint gonna giv wen e finally ask cs dt place is currently on vacation.

Hello Ma,

The alcohol, caffeine etc passes from our system after some hours and during that moment, refrain from breastfeeding (pumped milk is a plus in this case).

For the episiotomy, you are very right about sitting despite the pain and especially on hard surfaces. Since my last post( 5days ago), I decided to stop the sitz bath and just disinfect with antiseptic water and the tender part that was paining me has stopped completely, like I sit fully now grin and feel absolutely no pain there again plus the stitched part seems closed and smaller now. I don't think I'll be doing sitz bath again, I'll just keep disinfecting. I attended a wedding party yesterday ... Hallelujah grin

Sorry about your libido mama and I think for yours and Hubby's sake, try to revive it somehow (you can browse). I also felt this way towards the end of preggy and after but now, my mind is actually open to it, just can't do anything till I am 100% sure I'm healed down there. E-hug.

Hi moms,

Quick question. Do you massage your babies or do we consider that a foreign culture? I'm doing a research and would love to get opinions from experienced moms like yourselves grin.

I massage my baby everynight after cleaning her up. It actually helps her relax and sleep more soundly and longer.

Mamas please is it compulsory to use baby oil on babys head until 6 months. I was told it helps to close the fontanelle quickly. Don't know how true it is. Please enlighten a ftm

Because I had my doubts about the validity of that claim, o did my own research. The oil won't close the fontanelles quickly, nothing can do that except the nature of God's work which doctors say will be anytime from 18 months and 3years when all fontanelles are completely closed. Oil keeps your baby's hair soft and wet which is a good reason to keep oily as hard and dry isn't a quality anyone should have for their baby's hair.

Good afternoon all....

It is normal 4 a baby 2 b fuzzy wenever e/she want 2 fart or burp?!

Very normal. They have not gotten a hang of making bowel movement or passing gas either through mouth or anus so it comes with some discomfort and so they get fussy and grunt till it passes. As they grow, they get a great hang of it and fussiness or uneasiness will stop.

My baby's stomach makes sounds and she stretches her legs and become fuzzy before she farts. This is what I think they call colic. I complained tired but was told it's normal. It normally stops when they reach 3 or 4 months. Though she doesn't become fuzzy when she burps.

No mama, its not colic. Colic is a medical condition that affected babies face when they have intestinal or bowel-related severe pains. Its very normal for them to stretch, grunt, arch their backs and be generally uneasy only in that moment when they are passing gas or trying to poo. And as you said, they'll outgrow it around 3/4 months depending on the child as some take longer to perfect the movement.

That's not colic, colic is more serious and painful for the child. What you described is all normal .

What TiffanyJ described is still colic, even with your explanation, you are still saying the same thing with her just that you gave the definition of colic.

No ma, its not the same and I know this not only from mine and others experience but also from research and doctor's confirmation. Trust me, you don't want to experience the first 3 or 4 months of a colicky baby's tantrums, its super frustrating. We're talking based on experience that's why I asked you to tell/explain to me why you said is painful and serious and not a link and neither is it an intestinal or bowel-related severe pains please. Colic is not serious and painful, something that can be relieved when a baby belch or pass out gas.

Ma, the info in the link/ other medical informed website will educate you better than my summary. I know what you are talking about as my baby also does all TiffanyJ and Kokaiye's baby do. Initially, I was scared and went to hospital about 3times, the paediatrician was the one that put my mind at ease and gave me all info I now pass to this group since the topic came up (browse the symptoms, you'll be convinced). My mother in-law was so certain my baby is colic and was even ready to give her an herbal mixture, it was this that made me push for more info especially because I know some colic children and was certain my baby isn't colic. Just read mama, you'll understand better. Have a nice night wink

Here is a few tips.
1. Make sure he burps after feeding him.
2. Do the bicycle motion for him several times a day. It helps ease off gas.
3. Nospamin helps relieve it. Don't give up
4. Gripe water also helps though doctors don't too advice mothers to use it.
Finally, all these will only help calm the pain but there is no cure. It will stop on it's own when baby clocks 3 or 4 months

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Ajokeomo: 4:08am On Dec 23, 2019
I agree with ChavivaBrown. There is Gas/Bowel movement discomfort which is very normal and which i think is the issue as explained by Kokaiye. My baby has the same and we were given gas drops at the hospital. I use that for her and do the bicycle exercise which helps her to pass gas and poop. The grunting and discomfort stops as soon as she passes the gas or poops.
Colic is more intense stomach pain and from what I’ve learned if a baby cries for 3 hours continuously for no apparent reason and is inconsolable, if this happens at least three times a week at almost the same time of the day, then most likely the baby has colic.

Malaria comes with different symptoms and ills, cold, catarrh, feverish feeling etc. Some get hit harder than others. It doesnt make it less of malaria just cos one isnt exhibiting all the malaria symptoms.

Passing gas or burping calms many babies why others it goes beyond that. Some will cry the 3 hours a day, 3 times a week for first 3 months which is the usually colic diagnosis, others will just express discomfort here and there and are good to go. It doesn't mean it's not colic cos one baby isn't crying uncontrollably.

Rota virus vaccine has been linked to silent or minimal colic and teething symptoms( I attest to this).

Colic ranges from mild to severe which is the point I'm trying to make here.

Even the site referenced mentioned burping and applying pressure on the stomach as ways to relieve a colicky baby.

Gripe water was mentioned too with a caveat that there's no scientific proof it works even though many swear by it and mothers were cautioned on its use.

For now there's still no cure just palliative measures to keep baby comfortable till the 3months phase is passed.

Colic can be severe in some babies and mild in others. Also a mothers reaction to her crying and uncomfortable baby varies, what I may consider severe might be what another will call mild.

In reference to the above argument on what colic is? I will say no one is right or wrong its just individual perspective.
