Yeah, there's no place where envy doesn't exist. Some don't hide it, others do. The latter is worse, as you can even have them as friends. I guess it all boils down to not caring about what people think!

I disagree, I think you should actually pay attention to people's opinions and behaviours towards you so that you will be able to judge for yourself whether they have evil intentions or not instead of relying on hearsay and rumour.

People do get poisoned in the village because they were trying to be "nice" or egalitarian with people who clearly don't wish them well.

At the same time people miss out on things because they think everybody wants to do them something when in reality nobody cares about them.

I think you missed the point.
Not caring about people's opinions doesn't necessarily depict absolute negligence. Before you decide not to care, you must have observed their behaviours (which in most cases reflect their thoughts). How you respond depends on you. It is at this point you either decide to pay attention and let their behaviours/thoughts define you, or you just simply ignore.

For me I don't. Though a mansion is wasting there but what can man do when there are so many obligations and responsibilities one has to meet up in the city?

Secondly I just don't feel the vibe there. Too much envy and evil.

Lastly my kids are comfortable spending holidays with my parents in the city cos my parents live in the city too so what's the point of going to the village I ask?
Do you think staying in the city will protect you from their wickedness? You are just lucky that they are not interested in your case, because if they are interested in you. Even if you travel to abroad they will still get hold of you.

I didn't miss the point, rather you failed to clarify it. Using the words "not care" totally denotes an attitude of negligence.

You didn't mention weighing the persons behaviour and deciding not to care.

You literally wrote that "it all boils down to not caring what people think" which is a foolish way to go about things when in a sensitive environment like the village.

You focused on that sentence alone and failed to read contextually. Hence, you missed the point.

Your last sentence did not correspond in any way to the ones prior. Hence, you failed to make any point.

You now backtracked to explain what you actually meant when you realised that you'd left it ambiguous.
