What are mission objectives in the northeast war? The Federal government has been saying boko haram has been technically defeated since 2015. The government believes this as shown by them repatriating displaced people and forming North east development commission.

What constitutes victory in this war?

Personally I dont believe in technical defeats. I don't believe Nigeria can say it won the war until they dislodge them from places they remain in control. In the Lake Chad basin they collect taxes. The next goal has to be reconstruction and economic development. The government already doing de-radicalization programs but they should consider broading it to wider population.

This post is a little off topic but I noticed a few people sayimg the border closure is reducing boko haram incidents. Based on data provided by CFR it's indignant. Boko haram seems to less deadly in 2nd half of year anyway.

Not only do they collect taxes but they also fish there sef.

Yeah it's pretty interesting. I have a thread on economics of boko haram terrorism if you're interested. The tax system they set is some ways better than the legitimate governments.

The Syrian war isn't about ideology.Its mainly about people fed up with Assads rule.

Assad thoroughly crushed the rebels.

Maybe it's because Russia gave him support and America wasn't really interested in ousting Assad.They have learnt their lesson about removing leaders and creating power vacuums as seen in Libya.
