Maybe they need to worry about their own people living in a first world country, and shanking people for a few pounds. Edit: My bad, I thought it was the UK's Guardian publication. |

By the way, closing the border helps promote our products within the country and gradually, in other countries. The way we are going about it is not the way to do it. China is a vivid example of a prepared leader to do it. Singapore is another. Blakewilli: |

Almost everything earned in taxes and royalties goes to servicing less than 3 percent of the population. Government under this dispensation has become a BURDEN to this country. It is like having a restaurant business, a factory, a construction site or a sports club and 95 percent of what you earn, your receipts is spent in the office. To buy foodstuff to cook, to buy raw materials to produce, to buy cement to build, to pay the players you go borrowing. What kind of madness is this. How many civil servants are there in Nigeria for heavens sake. What exactly do they do that the rest of Nigeria cannot. What is the role of government beyond the ORGANISATION OF SOCIETY. How can organising society be this daunting especially when the vast majority of Nigerians donot feel the contribution of government in any positive, meaningful way on a day to day basis having to provide virtually the whole range of social services for themselves. They will tell us that they have to borrow to provide infrastructure to con the ignorant. What they will not reveal is what is done with what they have, what they gather from the long suffering citizen and what God has so graciously provided from the ground in terms off natural resources. They donot want you to hold them to account on that. That is not governance. It is blackmail because they know the 97 percent of non government folks need the infrastructure to function and advance. It is highly irresponsible for government to TAKE ALL THE MONEY IT HAS AT ITS DISPOSAL FIRST AND THEN SCRAMBLE TO FIND MONEY FOR THE REST OF NIGERIA. For our slow citizens, bogged down by tribe and religion hear this. If you donot begin to demand for the restructuring of this country to give you direct powers to decide who gets what out of the national purse a time will come when 100 percent of what Nigeria makes a year will go to them, their wallets, their armoured jeeps, their foreign trips, their palatial mansions and their disgusting pensions. Then they will tell you to go face the World Bank or the Chinese development bank yourselves. This is the only country I know where the people sit idly by and watch their utter destruction in broad daylight by folks who number no more than a dozen but cause so much hardship and suffering at their own expense. We are truly a failed citizenry. |

It's a pity that some people have to wait until now to speak up against major general Buhari's regime. Most Buhari's supporters with political, ethnic or religious affiliations are the worst hit thanks to a regime without direction. Let us mourn our Nigeria nation for now |

A fiscal governance campaigner, Eze Onyekpere, said there would be no progress until government cuts down bloated costs and improves value for money in overall expenditure, especially in capital expenditure. Also emerging, he said, is the challenge of compelling Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to collect and remit all due revenues. That 's all there is, really. |

• Recurrent expenditure takes 95 per cent revenueNIGERIA SHOULD BE RESTRUCTURED INTO A TRUE FEDERAL STATE. There are so many things the federal government has put their hands into which they should not be doing. States should be made autonomous with more powers devolved to the state. This unitary structure the northern political leadership is comfortable with will not bring accelerated progress and development to Nigeria. There is the urgent needs to bring down the UNITARY SYSTEM to an abrupt end. The 2014 National Conference Report must be revisited and implemented. The political leadership need to cut down on the huge cost of governance. Most of these federal ministries are unproductive and they must be pruned down. GOVERNMENT IN NIGERIA at the three tiers, Federal, State and Local Government must learn the culture of spending money wisely and productively. Our spending culture must be based on money that we truly earned. Not the Lazy man 's money which is CRUDE OIL. The war against corruption must be fought without stopping and it must not be built around the federal government alone. |
