Try IEF or depending on what stage you are at, you can busy yourself with Prepmyfuture (there are some grammar lessons on it) until you are strong enough to venture out.

Please can you advice me on how best to start, been using Duolingo for a while, due to time constraint attending a French class wouldn't be feasible for now. What's your advice for a beginner like me, thanks.

Get an online French friend. Join polyglot site and you will get many people to practice with.

That is how I started way back in the days.

Listen to radio. Stop listening to naija stuff that might not benefit you. Spend time immersing yourself in French.

I soacked myself in French.

If you are a Christian, watch youtube videos of French/Nigerian churches. Redeemed church is an example. Plenty of English and French translations.


Watch some movies with subtitles.

You can submit it so that you are officially in the pool. Then when your spouses's results are out, then you can update. No big deal.

I just learnt something whole filling the express entry profile. Not only can you results for 2 language tests, your spouse can do same.

If push comes to shove, spouse might do TEF Canada in addition to IELTS.... that is of it will gain us points.

They must be asking for it for a reason.

Perhaps it is for information. According to the grid, there are no points for spouse's second language just like there are no points for spouse's non-Canadian work experience. This is my understanding.

With this scores our CRS scores is 457 if my LLB and Law School certificate is evaluated as 2 or more degrees and

464 if it’s evaluated as a professional degree. Still waiting for my transcript to be sent to ICES for evaluation.

I am considering the option of TEF to boost our scores. I need recommendations on great French schools in Lagos. Also how many points will French add to our CRS. Thank you guys

Mon experience etait bonne mais ma parole est pitiable car je ne suis pas sure de ce que je dis et j'ai peur generalement. Congrats on the first leg of the journey. You can get as much as 42points if you pass tef very well ie from minimum of strong B2 Above. If you are new to the language, it requires dedication and sacrifice.
