Hello friends, I will be 34 years of age in the coming year, and I plan on pursuing my education in the UK (undergraduate) .I want to apply to university of London , city.

This morning I called a travel agent so that I can get a better advice from her, but to my shock, she told me that I should forget about applying to a UK university that they will not admit me into undergraduate program due to my age . That my age is too much. That I should instead look for a university in Bulgaria.

I want you guys that are already schooling in the UK , and possibly in the school I mentioned above to confirm this for me. Will the school discriminate against me because of my age ?

I guess your travel agent was right because I don't think they can take you with your age for undergraduate programs. If it was masters or PhD, then they will.

I don't know about Bulgaria, but if the travel agent assures you of admission in any university there (and of course, you trust him or her), then go for it.

But I checked the admission, and I didn't see anything like that

i don't know why many people in this country think thirty something years old person is old..

that's how they were saying 35 is too old for marriage for a guy for that matter..

Send an email to the admission office of the school directly to get a first hand answers to your enquiry.

Age doesn't factor into admissions. However, it might be an issue when you're trying to get a visa.

UK universities might not admit you because at that age you should be applying for post graduate diploma or masters. And the embassy might not even grant you visa. You can't even get admitted for undergraduate degree with only waec, if you done have a diploma like OND/HND you will have to apply for foundation and I don't think and foundation school will even admit you. It somehow when at your age you want to be admitted with 15, 16 year olds.

You can try Cyprus, those ones will give you visa so far you can afford the tuition

I successfully got student's visa for a 41-year old man currently doing his bachelors here in Europe. If you can convince the visa officer, I don't see your age as a red flag.

That's not true.

Yes you are not the conventional age, but you can still get admission. You need to make sure you can clearly articulate why you are going for degree at this point and your goals especially for the visa, but you can definitely get admission.

You will definitely get admitted to university since you will pay school fees,but chances of getting visa will be extremely difficult. Most Nigerians at your age bracket do not attend schools just want the study visa as a means to stay legal

Nothing bad in using a travel agent or education consultant. The ones that are genuine will offer free consultation initially to guide you on the best step to take.

Right now some schools especially UK,Australia weight your chances of getting a visa before admitting students. No school wants to keep getting their students refused at the embassy continuously. It affects them also in a way because the embassy expects them to analyse a student to be sure they are really genuine.
