Arteta got his tactics spot on, in fact as at 30mins I was confident we would win by two goals margin. But Lampard got the better of him due to poor game management caused by lack of experience. At 1-0 with 20mins to go, he ought to have brought on changes to tighten the tiring midfield and ease the pressure.

Wenger would bring in another fullback send Monreal to CB and end the game. Arteta could have taken off Lacazette and Nelson, throw in Pepe and Willock (if he wishes) but this must be done before the 75th min.

I sincerely hope this match would have added some vitamins to his tactical nous. So that at least we can get something out of the next game.

One thing though is that there was a big improvement in our play.

If that stupid ref had sent of Jorginho we probably would be singing in a different tune. The reason why VAR isn't enough. Hope that ref gets relegated.

If Martinelli was fit, he would have been better than lacazette.

I feel we would have finished the game first half, esp with auba cut back to lacazette, but the latter's poor first touched ruined everything. That would have been a sucker punch there, but laca just didn't want to turn up.
Nobody can really deny our massive improvement in play, but as origin pointed out, they had better technical midfielder than us, and I think that, was the difference in the day. Cos their midfield really made them to really pressure us, and our attack really became blunt when the pressure was much. Not taking off lacazette aided the pressure cos he was really really tired and greatly panting as of the 60min.
Onto the next game tho, to be sincere, I'm sad it's man u. With our increasing injuries and lean squad, and their momentum on the rise I'm not so optimistic. But then, finger crossed, I hope some of our guys will be back and I really do hope for a win

Geundouzi (already on yellow) clearly pushes Abraham to the ground in the 18 yard box and referee overlooks it. No sign of VAR review at all.

You need to see how this people picked torreira as the useless one among the trio just because he flopped at anfield last season.

1.. 2 games in charge and we can see some identity in the team which we lack under Emery. We can surely build on that.
2.. Ozil was class today and he's been so in the past game also. Also, nobody presently at arsenal can play that role as he does.
3...guen needs to be taught the cm role. Less said about him the better. Also, I don't see the impact willock in our games. Don't help defence nor attack.
4... Nelson even though isn't as gifted Pepe is deserving to start over him under Arteta. We could see the left side pressure intensified immediately Nelson was off and pepe on. Pepe hardly tracks back, help his man nor beat his opponent.
5...it will be sad if saka is injured. I don't know who would slot in at lb. Injury crisis is really eating us deeply.
6.. We were really organized and our shape compact. It's a shame a moment of madness by Leno cost us the game and opened it up. But then, most times he's been saving our asses. So I assume it's one of those bad days for keepers.

I'm still hopeful sha, I'm praying Arteta is backed by the board, esp if xhaka is leaving Jan.

check most saves we had this season, and you'll find out that Leno have the 2nd most saves in EPL after duvbraka. He also is the keeper that have faced the most shot in EPL. I mean, a goal keeper facing 15 shots per match ought to be in relegation zone. To be sincere bro, him and auba have been our saving grace this season... The two times I know he f**kd up was against Tottenham and ystdy match. Aside that, he's been saving us time to time.

Did u watch the Arsenal-Tottenham match? Did u see the goal-bound free kick saved from Eriksen?

Did u watch the most recent Arsenal- Man city where he saved one terrible shot from De Bruyne?

Even against Norwich he saved us countless times.

If Leno was really as bad as "not being good all season" as u claim, we would've been conceeding average of 5 to 7 goals per game. If u want to list top performers in that team, he will surely rank second just after Auba. Having a bad game is normal for footballers. That guy has been clearing the messes of them Xhaka allowing opposing players run tru midfield straight at defence, he's been saving the clowns at the back after embarrassing display they put out week in weak out in the name of defence.

Maybe Leno is not perfect but trust me he's a complete upgrade from the shitty goalkeeping Czech served us in his last days.

he’s showing good signs really, he just needs to work on his excessive dribbling (knowing when to release the ball) and defending. With Martinelli back I want to see Aubs flanked by Mart and Pepe, Ozil in the hole and a pivot of Xhaka/Ceb and Torreira.
