Not everything you disclose even to family or friends. ...when they see or hear about what you earn or receive as salary, their goes your wahala.....every now and then, they will start asking you for one favour or the other and when you decline narrating your own tight budgets and programme, they will tagged you wicked uncle, wicked brother or stingy person....it's best you stay cool and make they just knw say you dey hussle or work..finish!

2. How many children do you have?

It a matter of choice... When I was working I keep the truth about my salary to myself, most especially my families as I don't have friends or keep friends, I can only tell them when I have leave the said job

I think it should be respected as private especially as the same amount of Money tends to have different values in different hands.

E.g. You may think my salary is BIG but it is nothing compared to my financial comittments /proposed investments or you may think my salary is small but my Employer covers the major things one spends their BIG-er salary on e.g. Housing, Education, Health (Insurance)

That is personal or it is something that is supposed to be between husband and wife.....not outsiders, friends or other family members.

If anyone ask us that, we will try to be polite by saying 'Sorry, it is personal, we don't wish to share' and if they insist then we will change it for them and shout 'WTF, is wrong with you, dem send u come?!'

Just like someone put up there that African mentality has really affected us. Personally, I don't think there is big deal in knowing what you earn. I have a brother abroad who on his own tells me how much he earns before getting a new job in an hospital. But for me, I don't see the reason why I need to ask him how much he now earns in the new job. But there is an exception; for instance, I want to go for an interview for a job and I know who works in that same organization, I can ask... please what's is the renumeration of this organization like". It is not like I am asking how much the person earns but for me to know what I should expect. I'm sure the person will tell me, but perhaps not the exact salary scale. My thought though!
