Social welfare generally is why Awo was forever denied presidency of Nigeria. That was one of the pillars of AG and later UPN to create government programs so people can go to govt for needs, as part of their rights for freedom, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

Government is able to institute social welfare programs but they will not. Our politicians prefer we are dependent on them to eat.


In fact, building a Secretariat creates job needs for construction and staffing....another way of redistributing income and growing local economy.

I initially thought you were opposed to social welfare programs and wanted to remind you that the USA and all Western countries that are prosperous and called 1st World rely on such programs to move their countries forward. Thats one reason why there cant be a revolution in America or any country that takes care of its poor, weak and less fortunate.

But demolishing the house imo makes no sense. Its pure madness. You spend 200k to demolish a property likely worth millions and then spend N100 million or more to build a secretariat. When will Nigeria politicians get sense?
If the Sarakis never paid for it, why not give them first chance to pay and then offer it for sale to anyone else if they dont.
Or convert it to an old peoples home like they said it is.

See how Bukola n his late father are powerless now. Even their dog, emir of Ilorin is afraid to speak because he knows it takes nothing for PMB to order him be dethroned ASAP.

Despite not liking Saraki or any other politicians in Nigeria, the state government shouldn’t have gone ahead wit this demolition as planed because it is now looking like a case of weeping an already dead horse after defeating Saraki politically. Chai Diaris god ooooo!!!

It is a big lesson. You canot have power forever. So the actions you take while still in power matters. I am 100% sure saraki's father converted that government land to his personal property when he was reigning supreme. Although its nothing compared to the billions of dollars illegally stolen it's still something. Just like tinubu's turn will come one day.
