Any wars with the US would be on the other country's soil. Do you know what power projection is? To bring war to a foreign country, you need either or both of two things: aircraft carriers and overseas military bases. China has just ONE overseas military base and one aircraft carrier, the US has thirty times that number.

The major problem for the US is that they value the life of their citizens, so a single death for them is like thousands for the other side. Apart from that, the US would defeat any other country head to head in warfare.

By the way if Iran dares to go to a full war with the US, Ayatollah Khomeini would be killed and Iran would be destabilized and forced to embrace democracy.
