Liverpool welcome Everton to Anfield for the standout tie of the FA Cup third round.
Jurgen Klopp's side have continued in a relentless streak of form, defeating Sheffield United on Thursday to take their lead to 13 points at the top of the table.
It was the Merseyside derby a month ago that signalled the end of Marco Silva's tortured reign at Everton. However, they enter the tie a side refreshed under Carlo Ancelotti.

They have taken six points from the Italian's first three games in charge, only suffering a narrow defeat against champions Manchester City.

The tie will kick-off at 16.01 on Sunday 5 January at Anfield.

Liverpool remain without Joel Matip and Fabinho, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also out with injury. Takumi Minamino is available to make his debut, however, the club's new signing is also dealing with a thigh injury.

Everton are without long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin with a hamstring injury, while both Alex Iwobi and Andre Gomes are also still unavailable.

Prediction

With Liverpool likely to take the opportunity to rotate their squad and Everton recharged since Ancelotti's arrival, the cup tie should be a much tighter affair. 
It could see Klopp's side open up more than usual in a tense end-to-end game, complete with goals at either end but ultimately ending with predictable winners.
