You know the story: Moses got the Ten Commandments from God on Mt. Sinai in Exodus 20. The list of commandments had the familiar rules—no blaspheming, no murder, no lying, no stealing, and so on. Moses returns, only to find that the Israelites, impatient and anxious during his long absence, had made and were worshipping a golden calf, a familiar object of worship from Egypt. Moses smashed the tablets in his rage, 3000 Israelites were killed in the opening round of punishment, and Moses eventually went back up for a duplicate set (Exodus 34), which was put in the Ark of the Covenant. Except that it wasn’t a duplicate set. It’s a list that very few Christians are familiar with. For example, number 5 is “The first offspring from every womb belongs to me.” Number 7: Celebrate the Feast of Weeks. Number 10: “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.” This set is referred to as the “Ten Commandments” in Exodus, not the other set. How many Christians even know 2 Ten commandment exists not to talk of enumerating them? |

Ok let's clarify this. The bible is an incomplete book of pliagiarism, hearsay, folklores and fairytales of the old. Realistically, No one person who ever wrote the bible has a first hand knowledge or witness of what really happened. So, to that end, The chapters were cherry picked from different sources manuscript/scrolls of non verificable eye witnesses hence, the slight differences stories in different chapters. Keep in mind, A lot of these initial manuscripts are incomplete due to fire burn, wars, theft etc. What infact is amazing is, At the council of Nicea, Chapters were agreed upon to make the final list of the book. There were disagreement, so the catholic ended up having their own chapters of the Bible, while the protestant/pentecostals chose their own chaptes to make their Bible as well. This is why Catholics and Pentecostals uses different Bible and why chapters in the Bible slightly contradicts each other. |

A305:You don't understand.. The Torah of the Catholic and the Torah of the pentecostal are the same. But they both contain two different 10 commandments.. Moses destroyed the first one, so instead of God to repeat what was in it, e game a completely different commandments again... Why? |

sonmvayina:Now, my post points to the fact that, Either God was too drunk to make some mistakes or the Bible and mode of application differs by different denomination. |

The popular 10 commandment found in Exodus 20, taught in Churches, is not the real 10 commandment. The real 10 commandment was first giving to Moses in 2 Stone tablets in Mount Sinai in Exodus 31. Moses broke it to pieces when he saw the Isrealites worshiping a golden calf in Exodus 32. God re-wrote the 10 commandment in a stone tablet in Exodus 34. The popular fake 10 commandment propagated by the church found in Exodus 20 was not written on a stone tablet, it was part of spoken laws given by God. Emphasize is on spoken not written on a stone tablet. If you read Exodus 34 careful at the end of the commands, God said "and this is the 10 commandment" The big question then becomes why is the church propagating Exodus 20 (fake 10 commandment) instead of Exodus 34 (the real 10 commandment)? The simple answer is because Exodus 34 doesn't make any sense and it's not applicable in our civilized society just like most of the 630 immoral laws in the old testament. Bottom line, the Bible was written by ancient men to control the people of that time. The easiest way of rejecting the book is by reading the book. |
