Dis is exactly why we would kip having useless set of leaders in dis country. How is voting along patriotic lines now more important than voting based on merit? Now those who voted based on form and merit are now considered Judas abi? Oshoala had absolutely no impact whatsoever at d woman's tournament and only began seeing consistent action towards d tail end of last year.

Mr ITK...Mr I Sabi what's right,she made no impact and yet she won eventually...you get sense?

Asisat won with over 20votes without Nigerian vote, what does that tells you?...... She clearly deserves the award.

She lead Barcelona femini to women UCL final although lost to Lyon in the final, she even scored in the final.

She scored once in the women's world cup
She plays for the second best team in the world whilst the rest plays for shitty teams.

I am a fan of Oshoala but if I were voting, I wouldn't have voted her because in as much as I believe in patriotism, I also believe in not being biased.

Oshoala is undoubtedly good but she doesn't put her best when playing for Nigeria. Forget that she scores when it matters but the footballer I watch while playing for her club is different from Oshoala wearing a Nigerian Jersey.

When she plays for Nigeria, she plays as someone who wants to fulfill her obligation and contribute her quota while clubside, you can feel that enthusiasm even when you are not a football fan.

I don't know about the politics in the dressing room but for all her countrymen to back off, then something is definitely not completely right.

Compare her to the way the likes of Ahmed Musa, Francis Ordega, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze play for both club and country. Even in some bad days, you would feel the enthusiasm and the 'we must put in our best' spirit.

It won't be bad if they vote for you but will be an abomination if your people vote for them. Good enough Oshoala won but I won't vote her only because she is a Nigerian. Very embarrassing. The guys that voted should be ashamed of themselves. Perpetual voting Oshoala last is most disgraceful. She’s such a bitter, jealous and dirty lady.

Congratulations to Asisat Oshoala. The saying that a prophet is without honor at home can’t be more true. While her own people turned against her, others saw the good in her and she won. Hopefully, she will hold no grudges against the country.

Why are people screaming about patriotism and backstabbing. If the Nigeria voters felt oshoalla was not deserving of the award, they had to follow their hearts. That's fairness. We have seen cases in FIFA when captains of particular countries voted for another nationals despite having citizens of their countries as nominees. Not everything should be sacrificed on the altar of patriotism, most times you need to be true to yourself and stand by whatever you do.
