The IRGC never said firing the shot or hitting the plane was a mistake, they are calling the 'INTENT' a mistake.

The IRGC commander said the operator thought the plane was a Cruise Missile heading toward them....which may be proven to be a blatant lie.

That plane left their own airport, and was brought down in a matter of minutes, which means the plane was not in a course of re-entry.

The only mistake I see here is that Iran fired on their own citizens, but was happy firing on the plane because it belongs to a western ally
