rodeo0070:If they don't have sensible people in government to know this should never have happened, at least it's good to know they are beginning to listen to US. Guys, just drive around V/Island and see how keke drivers brazenly chase car owners out of the way. It's either you give way or they scratch you and they do it BOLDLY (Mostly non lagosians). Go to Lekki, that side is even an eyesore, Ikota, VGC, Ajah and lately from Jakande to Chevron, Okada riders won't let you rest. How did Lagos State Government become so irresponsible? All they're after is tax, tax and more tax. You will soon start taxing dead bodies by the time this aliens finish with your inhabitants. |

Tunagee:Oride is even becoming another menace. You need to encounter them in traffic to know they are just as good as those illiterates riding normal bikes. To drive car for Lagos is now at your OWN RISK even when you're perfectly obeying traffic rules, they'll just come and hit your vehicle then speed off. Lawless society. Crazy. |

Coming from the north, they now drop at Ogere in Ogun State and very early in the morning by 4am you see them driving inwards Lagos since that time over 300 motorcycles were impounded on there way to Lagos last year or so. I still saw them this morning. We had better be watchful in Lagos o |

Here is my little solution. In as much as Lagos has the worse traffic in Africa, the activities of okada can not be stopped because as human, we will always seek solution to our problems and okada seems to be the way out. Solution: the govt should revisit the BRT mode of transportation and give its deserving attention. If the transportation sector is upgraded to a world class and civilized standard, people will opt for it. Govt should give way to private-government partnership in the transport sector. If the rail system can be fully functional, it will reduce the pressure on the roads. The traffic are worse because alot of cars are on the road. Government should increase tax on private cars to reduce their usage. With these I think the okada system will die natural death instead of impounding them which has proven not working. |
