Job Title: Junior Underwriter (Team Member, Regional Underwriting & Claims)

Location: Kano

Job Description

We are looking to hire the services of an Underwriter who will be responsible for assessing insurance applications or proposals to determine suitability and terms for accepting into the company risk portfolio.
Job Responsibilities

Appraise risk proposed for cover and determine level of exposure and based on the exposure, determine premium rates and policy terms
Advise the client (insured or intermediary) via quotation slips stating premiums and terms of acceptance
Discuss and negotiate terms with the broker Issue policy certificates, documents and endorsements with appropriate policy terms and conditions
Advise (in consultation with the team lead) on any additional measures that may be required to minimize the impact and frequency of loss
Prepare relevant periodic reports assigned (Regulatory, Compliance and Internal Reports)
Qualifications / Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Insurance, Risk Management or related field from a reputable Educational Institution
Minimum of one year relevant experience in Insurance industry.

I just got an offer from one of the top Nigerian banks as a graduate trainee. I don't know if i should accept or decline it(trusting kdsg). Training starts in a couple of weeks.

Please house, i need your counsel on this.

Lots of people have been scaring me with the whole 'bank job is a nightmare' thingy. I know myself, once i go start the training, it would take alot to pull me out.

Please candid advice(s) is/are welcomed.

Graduate trainee has prospects. Your only fear with bank Job should be when hired as a contract staff, Graduate trainee are paid very especially Access and GT bank. This I am very sure of. I wouldn't for a second hesitate in accepting such offer.

You should take the offer Bro. Unless you have a deep conviction that the KDSG will contact you soon enough. Someone just spoke about fare up there, but that's not really an update on the process. Anyway, since you've got something in your hands, it's worth more than speculation. All the best!

Is ok, 3k out of 5k plus shortlisted for the concluded screening.
Perhaps the 3k will be the successful candidates from the concluded screening and yet to be schedule interviews.
