The newly-inaugurated governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has ordered an investigation into the administrations of three former governors of the state.

They are Ikedi Ohakim, Rochas Okorocha and and his immediate-predecessor, Emeka Ihedioha. Uzodinma gave the order in his inaugural speech immediately he was sworn-in.

He also ordered the Accountant General of the state to forward to him within four days from Wednesday, a comprehensive financial status of the state from May 29, 2010, till date.

He also ordered all Permanent Secretaries of all the ministries in the state to within the same period forward to him the status of all the contracts awarded and the immediate stoppage of payment of all ongoing contracts in the state.

He said that his administration was anchored on rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery. While stating that he had forgiven those he said conspired to “rob me of hard-earned victory”, Uzodinma said that he will revive the state and make it work again. He said that the judiciary demonstrated huge bravery by declaring him the duly elected governor of the state.

Events of recent days are shocking and lure the average keen-observing Imolite to despair. Ihedioha seemed focused on rebuilding Imo and clipping the wings of some of the state's disguised enemies. Seeing former governor Okorocha around a man who is believed to bring his name's meaning to bear in governance is a paradox, a conundrum defying solution. In the coming months, we, Imolites, hope Hope Uzodinma allays the widespread doubts with performance and subtly avoids men willing to selfishly sap the state's future. It is well.

Back to the topic, Hope cannot probe Rochas. The game plan was for Hope to be there for 8 years after which Uche Nwosu takes up his own 8 years.

I really pity Imolites.

When Buhari came to Owerri to campaign, he said we should vote for whoever we want to vote for. He didn't tell us to vote APC candidates which means they had already laid down their plans to take over and we were busy laughing at Okorocha thinking he had lost all.

Besides, how many times did APC campaign in Imo?

What a funny country we find ourselves in.

Okorocha and Ohakim had longer tenures.
