Getting to work or simply borrowing and implementing the templates used by countries that were in our position many decades ago but are now thriving is the only way forward.

It's a massive project but it's achievable. Other countries did it and came good. Why can't we face these challenges head on.

I think the original plan was that eco was not meant to replace existing national currencies but was meant to only serve as a means of transaction within West Africa instead of using dollar. Renaming cfac eco now is a betrayer

Meanwhile, I am not surprised to see Guinea joining in on the "condemnation".

I mean, from the onset, they have never really wanted to be part of the whole CFA Franc thing- under any guise.

They are the only ex-French colony in West Africa that has never really been part of the CFA bloc.

Guinea pulled out of the CFA zone just one year after independence(1958) under the leadership of Sekou Toure.
